Yeah the ps4 renders the game and encodes it to a video stream which the vita plays back.
Absolutely loved it on Vita, actually missed public transit stops because of it.

I never would have tried the game if it wasn't put on PS Plus. It looked like a crappy "dudebro" shooter as someone else has said on n4g. The game was a pleasant surprise though. Definitely seemed like a game that was (almost) unfairly overlooked.

If this turns out to be true then I would not expect a cut on the memory cards. That would be asking for too much.
This rumour is somewhat plausible because ps plus adoption will be greatly increased come autumn, and the profit margine on those memory cards must be huge, especially since Sony already had the factories in China to make consumer electronics.

The thing I wonder about remote play is the bandwidth. Not concerned with it on the Vita end, just the upload speed that will be required for the ps4 to stream the video. Obviously this is not a problem when the two are on the same network.

I don't think Sony will go for them. Sony should be focusing all of its spending power for western markets right now. Ps3 is obviously important in Japan, and I don't think Sony will have much trouble keeping the audience over the next few years as consumers transition to next gen. Sony is mostly secured in home consoles in Japan so the fight for consumers money should be in the west.

There's a reason that most FPS games in some way or another owe iD tribute. Look at Valve with their Goldsrc and later Src. (source) Also: Call of Duty and many more run on modified iD tech.
It's not just about them coming out with Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake. iD have a long history of supreme architectural and engineering prowess. Ever wonder why Quake 3 was still being used as a benchmark when PC's that could run it at 700 FPS were around?

Can a 2006 PC play The Last Of Us? L.A. Noire? Batman: Arkham City? Battlefield 3? Etc. If the answer is yes, then nowhere near the graphical fidelity of a console, or said PC cost a fortune and a half.
