Everyone has their own opinion, of course, but I have two DS4's, and they are both solid. They have a feel like I won't be seeing what's in that picture until years of use, if ever.
I can't get over how good it feels. So much that I'm actually upset that it won't work for every ps3 game. It's really hard to go back to the DS3.
I can't wait to try the Xbox One controller. As it is right now, the DS4 is my favorite gamepad ever, ...
I want a YouTube app, even the crappy one on the ps3 would suffice. DLNA, MP3 and CD support are also on my list. Proper suspension of games while in low power state a la Vita. UI customizations and more social integration than just Facebook would be nice, too.
On the positive tip, I believe that I will get almost all of these things in the near future.
Amen, brother.
Anyone who wishes ill will to the extent of a hardware failure on another is no gamer. I feel for the few out there who've had problems. When I got my ps4 Friday night, I was almost losing my poop because the PSN wouldn't work. Took a breather, (cigarette) waited a while, and then everything fell into place. Smooth sailing since.
Oh, dear.
Have we succumbed to semantic policing?
@sincity
I know what you mean.
I bought killzone and knack, but killzone isn't getting any love yet. Knack is so satisfying.
Forget the media. Ironic that I say that on a news aggregate. I've encountered numerous people on this site that are more knowledgeable and realistic than some of the idiots disguised as journalists. Don't get me wrong, there are moronic posters here, too.
Oh, for sure. That's what I'll be doing, but proper support will be nice for wireless and virtual surround.
Doubtful. Sony never had problems leaving it in their previous consoles.
The primary reason for any missing features that were planned to be there can be put down under "release date." If had to wait for 100% firmware, then the systems would be still getting boxed up, and not in people's homes.
Even if the theory about ps4 having DRM was true, then my point still supersedes it. To get a holiday release, day one patches were expected and needed.
Except that it's not "true," and it contains no "facts."
His post was entirely conjecture.
Hardware for both of these new systems were assembled and packaged before firmware was completed. Hence both systems needing a day one update.
I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty certain that Xbox One ships with no features, and everything has to be patched it. This returns to the point that I've just made.
I'm in St. John's as well, but I didn't go to the midnight launch. Ebgames invited me, but I moved across town after my pre-order and it became too inconvenient.
I didn't bother to go to the midnight launch here, but it did happen at midnight NL time. (So 30 minutes ahead of Atlantic)
No stores held back, either. Ebgames, Futureshop, BestBuy, etc. all had their midnight openings here.
It's Sony owned, so I doubt you'd have to pay for it again. At least not full price.
Yes, you can.
Just not online multiplayer.
I know what you mean. That was a good event last night.
When Naughty Dog was like "but wait, we have something else" I think everyone just stopped in their tracks.
Also, I let out a boisterous cheer when Shu did his Bandares pose
It wasn't the first one sold, but I understand that they said it for hype. There's two timezones ahead of EST in North America. When the event started last night it was 12:30 here. :P
Like first announcement of the night. BAM! Naughty Dog.
Maaaaaaaaan I'm pumped up now
I can't believe that just happened.
My body wasn't actually ready.
I don't know. I checked the official FAQ, and it still says that the official sets for ps3 will be usable after a later date.
I'm anxious to know, too. I thoroughly enjoy my pulse elite.
I bet in six hours you will be trembling and sore, and you will have full realization that your body was not ready.
Not even close.
:P
That's rough, man!
Mine just went through constant use over the weekend and they still look and feel flawless.
I hope that it was just a batch type of thing!
