They pulled another hype move that was false. The New York event was the same.
Midnight in Toronto is 1:30AM here, and 1:00AM in the rest of Atlantic Canada. Thousands of PS4's were already sold when:
"Last Thursday night, Sony Computer Entertainment Canada VP and GM Steve Turvey was in Toronto to officially sell the first PlayStation 4 in Canada."
People were already home with theirs and playing when this console was sold.
It appears that no one read the article.
Not one reference was made in comparison or contrast with a competitor. No power bricks, or lack thereof. No specs.
The whole thing was about the industrial design of the parts that you can see and touch.
I'm a Sony fan, and I thought these guys were on point in this article.
Those who are claiming bias are actually being hypocritical.
"I will judge for myself"
You probably just said the most objective thing that I've read here.
Good on ya.
Game critics are becoming less and less valid since you can view entire games for free on YouTube. Directly on the ps4 right now you can see loads of people playing any game you want see.
I wouldn't buy Ryse. I don't know or care what the reviews will say. Those types of games are pretty worn out to me. It's the same for God of War. I've owned all of those and then they crossed a line and made too many of them.
On the note of not caring about ...
Really though.
Aside from problems on launch day, I haven't seen one complaint since.
I never get disconnected from psn, and downloads consistently run as fast as my 30MB can provide (at least by my counting vs watch calculation)
Agreed. Pleaaaaaaaaaaase make it a ps4 game!
Had the ps4 turned off instead of standby. Fail haha
It's somewhere in the settings on the PS4. I can't remember exactly where, but it's there.
PS4 has a fit-to-TV meta option for all uses, which can conflict with games that have their own option for it.
Sorry that I couldn't be of more help, but it's there somewhere. Check all of the options under settings, and also check what's available when you hold the PS button down.
Resogun is an assault on the senses, and that is awesome.
Did you notice the fidelity on the DS4 speaker? It's not perfect, but man, is it better than a cranked up smart phone speaker.
HUMAN IN DANGER
I'm still waiting for the backlash to come when someone has a seizure after beating a level. It's like the game is trying to have some kind of rave sex with your eyes.
You should really try their other games if you haven't. Super Stardust Delta handily defeats my other Vita games for play time. The game was very well received on PS3 as well. Dead Nation also very well received.
Housemarque make truly great games. Classic, hardcore arcade style ga...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I turned it off. I don't recall seeing the yellow line when I left for work.
Likewise.
Even though I'm a PS gamer, I liked the controllers for the Xbox systems more. However, until I can get my hands on the Xbox One pad, the DS4 is king right now.
Yeah, the clickout isn't working.
I have not tried this. I did notice the immediate difference between same hub and direct connect though. Direct connect with the ps4 just kicks right in and works great, but connecting them through a router is not as pleasant.
I'm at work now, and I'm trying to get my Vita to connect to my PS4 to no avail.
It worked with both wifi direct and on the same hub as the PS4, but it doesn't want to connect over the internet.
I probably turned the system off instead of putting it on standby. Fail.
Yeah, I'm with Pixel.
When I got home with my PS4 Friday night, the network wouldn't work for me. After an hour of trying it started working, and it has worked since.
The download speeds I've been getting have been the max that my 30MPBS internet can handle.
So, aside from the first hiccup, everything's been working perfectly. I assume it will continue to work smoothly from here on out. Sony are now trying to get people to pay...
@Septic
Not at all. My experience was flawless. Important to note here that I had seen another story like this a little while ago, and that was before I had ever tried a ds4. I did give it a pretty thorough check because I wanted to be sure if it would be a problem. I don't think it will be a problem. (For me, anyway. I cannot attest to how rough others are with their gear.)
As far as I can tell, the material on the top of the sticks has the same feel and...
For sure, they are both in it for the money.
The best part is the two of them being locked in battle. The more fierce that these two compete, the further the end user's money goes.
I would never wish bad things on Xbox One, because I know that my ps4 experience hinges on Microsoft's success, too.
I am a pacifist, but I hope that we all can continue the level of hype for the next few years. I've already spent my $400, and now I'...
@felony
I think it's one of the beautiful things about live from PlayStation.
At any point you can just fire that up and there are countless streams out there for any games available on ps4. I think it's a great thing because many out there already do that with YouTube.
It's like you can review a ps4 game on your ps4 before you actually pay for it.
Ditto.
These new consoles are awesome. The level of competition that has happened all year will have to continue.
Of course, there will be fanboys and we all know the crap they get on with. The truth is that this may well be the best console generation for consumers, ever. Even if Xbox One and ps4 were to ship the same number of units in November, then the "war" is still not over. Not even close. One million units remains a small fraction of lifetim...
Me too.
The "millions of people are never wrong." link was priceless. I laughed
