That's true, but because Plus & LIVE are required for online play, I doubt they'd lose too many subscribers. If they stopped giving away games, it would piss people off, but they'd get over it as time went on, effectively putting an end to the whining. If they keep giving games away, the whining will continue...and continue...and continue. That being said, I don't know if cancelling it would be the answer because even though the vocal minority are the ones causing a ruckus...
I don't know if cancelling them all together would be the answer, but it just seems like some gamers expect brand new AAA games on a regular basis. When the PS3 started this service, it was deep into it's console generation; Sony had a much bigger catalogue of games to choose from to give away. We're only almost 2 years into the PS4's life cycle. If I had to bet, I'd say sometime during the summer next year is when we'll see an increase of AAA games. However, that does...
Well, considering you don't have to stare at the Wii U game pad the whole time, I'd say that puts it well ahead of Kirby LOL. In fact, you don't even HAVE to use the gamepad. The pro controller works just as well. It's a pretty challenging platformer, so don't let its cute looks fool you!
After reading about all the crap that Bungie had to go through just to get this game to launch after its second extension from Activision is nothing short of incredible. Now the generic story makes total sense, and I can't help but wonder if the "campy" version that was shot down may have been a better choice?
Regarding Uncharted 4, even though Naughty Dog is viewed as the golden child of Sony's first party studios, doesn't mean their immune to experienc...
This game is ridiculously fun when played cooperatively. Even without voice chat (which would've made it even better), you can still have a helluva time if you're playing with others who know the basic fundamentals of the game. I'm only through the first two worlds so far, and it has been a blast!
Also just wanted to add that while not as fun as playing with others, TriForce Heroes is actually not horrible playing solo, even if you have to swap between the two oth...
*not to find a way
Indeed! It would seem foolish on Bungies behalf to now find away to make one of its most hardcore and challenging modes relevant. Sure Etheric Light is useless now, but surely there has to be something that can use to bait Guardians into the prison yet again!
It shames me to admit that I never played this game, and I even own the PS3 remastering of it. I don't think I've ever met one person who spoke ill will of this game. Would love to try to squeeze it in this winter as it sounds like its worth doing so. Nice article, you can tell the author is very passionate about SotC
I just want Allison Road to surpass all its goals and come to as many platforms as possible. If they can recreate the same type of experience as P.T., and stretch into a full-fledged game, that will be one hell of a terrifying experience!
I already picked up Rock Band 4, but Guitar Hero TV definitely intrigues me. UGH! Too many games!
I don't mind microtransactions as long as they aren't spammed throughout the campaign and it isn't of the "pay-to-win" variety for MP. If it's just aesthetic or fun things for the campaign, i don't mind the developer offering additional content to make some money. Games aren't cheap and ya gotta make that money back somehow.
I definitely can understand the concern here and the Titanfall comparison is apt. Personally, I thought Titanfall was a great game, and I had a ton of fun playing it when I did, but the lack of a single player component was somewhat of a turn off and the main reason why I had moved on from it sooner than anticipated. Now obviously, if someone only plays games for multiplayer purposes, then I'm sure Star Wars: Battlefront will still appeal to that crowd regardless. I would've preferred...
Everyone can't grab shields. Only one person can select that class per match
OMG, my heart would literally skip a beat when they'd look at me and start sprinting. There was another time I breached a door and I slowly moved in one jump out of no where and scared the hell out of me...oh, and ended my round much earlier than I would have preferred.
Yeah, I was wondering how much dynamic destructibility would have on the visual fidelity, along with maintaining a steady 60fps. I just can't help but wonder that this game could benefit from a little more optimization (on both systems I guess, I didn't play the X1 version).
And I agree with you 100% on the lack of a cover system. It worked so well in the Vegas games, and it seems odd making your way through a room, try to get behind a dresser only to still get your h...
That's my biggest fear; it releases a total dud, Ubisoft Montreal scrambles to try to address issues over the next month, interest wanes due to negative word of mouth, and BOOM, February 23rd (three big titles drop that day) arrives and Rainbow Six Siege is written off by gamers, and fans of the series are left hoping it sold well enough to justify a healthy dose of DLC. This game has a ton of potential, and could be a really addictive tactical shooter; I'd hate to see this thing neve...
I'm still playing an absurd amount of Destiny since The Taken King arrived and I'm super excited for my first attempt at the King's Fall raid this weekend! Currently, my light level is 295 but my damn ghost shell is only 283. I can't seem to find a better ghost shell anywhere!
I haven't even opened my copy of the game yet, but after all the positive reviews and social media reactions, that's all about to change. Sounds like there is a ton of stuff to do in this game. Really happy that it's lived up to the hype, Mario deserves it!
I bought this game the day it came out. I absolutely LOVE the Mad Max movies (Fury Road is an instant classic). I adore post-apocalyptic themed games more than most. Yet, because of this insane Fall line-up, it still sits on my shelf in its original store wrapping :( I will get to this game at some point, but with Fallout 4 just over a month away, I'm afraid this one may sit in my backlog until some point in in 2016.
Magicka 2 is really fun cooperatively, and I've been curious about Pneuma! But because you don't shoot anyone or blow up aliens, these games don't deserve the vocal minorities time. It's really sad, because that vocal minority will always be the group that gives gamers in general a really crappy reputation.
