Metroid is first a foremost an action adventure metroidvania game. Story is secondary so its not really relevant.
Something like halo has the bigger issue with both story and gunplay suffering with every iteration. They cant seem to nail a good experience. Metroid Dread doesnt suffer any such thing.
I really love older WW1 and 2 gunplay. Is the multiplayer worth it? Hesitant to buy this at $70 knowing the campaign is garbage.
its fine if its "bad people" dying.
I noticed. It all looks uninspired. It's a shame. I thought 343 could really add something to halo...really liked halo 4 campaign.
Like why dont the enemy with sheilds decide to throw it at you or idk different movesets would be nice. Make it more like the freaking cinematics.
Okay its not about trying that new shit. Going back to its roots isnt improvement...its going back to what worked before. Im fine with that but to then claim its "improved" and that 343 really made some kind of push forward is plainly false. Theyre going back to what worked best years ago...in other words...back to what bungie did.
Halo has story outside of the games...the lore is incredible and again that was all bungie.
Halo 5 flopped because ...
@4show
How about this then....it's no samey...it's stale...no innovation no really meaningful improvement or change. Yes they added systems that exist in other games and threw them in a pot together with halo....that's not innovation...that's more like they got no new ideas and therefore need to grab stuff from other games.
@speak
Yeah GoW2 which we've seen some of already looks vastly improved from god of war 1. Goi...
Gotta agree...not just samey but uninspired. Everything is slow and old. Which is what the early games were but....gaming has moved forward... unfortunately 343 aren't all that talented.
Really wish Bungie created a new IP...their games always move fps forward and are incredible in their feel. Still can't get over how awesome the gunplay feels in destiny 2.

Returnal does a great job too! Amazing.
Funny since the dual sense happens to be the most talked about feature when I'm talking to others about the ps5.
With Xbox it's the $1 gamepass entry along with edge rewards.
And click on something he's totally uninterested in.
Yet here you are in an article about a game you had no interest in.
Guess you missed the part where it's dark souls fans that are saying the game looks and plays like dark souls and they wanted something different....
If they think it's more like dark souls then it's precisely made for them....and it doesn't sound to me like they're bothered with dumb stuff like making the game more inclusive to people who don't actually like these games.
Games aren't made for gamers?
Who are they for then?
Or was this supposed to be sarcastic?
No.
The best approach is to let others have this premature opinion.
They are not dead wrong and shouldn't be called a minority as there is no actual metric used to identify how many are happy and how many aren't. There are many who don't engage with this stuff online.
I'm very excited for anything from fromsoftware but they're not wrong that it doesnt stray from the pack as Bloodborne and sekiro did.
@MrPumblechook
I see this argument for how great if a value it is but honestly not sure Xbox 1st party adds much value yet. It sure didn't add much all last gen.
Until they actually have more than one amazing must play on the service I'm not really sure it's any better than ps now...which is cheaper mind you and still has quality titles...many great 1st party too.
I'm sorry but this isn't true. Dark souls pvp stays alive for a really long time and demons souls remake only died because there weren't enough ps5 users when it launched. Game would've done much better with a launch date 1 year after console release. It's common sense why the PvP scene disappeared so fast...not enough players.
Funny though since the ps5 is literally the easiest UI experience I've ever had with a console.
All needed icons and apps can be put right in front.
Perhaps there are other features that it doesn't do well....but I sure don't use those...whatever they are.
Xbox UI has always been cluttered for my preference. But as with PlayStation you can customize to have everything you need on one screen.
Dude if returnal, demons souls and ratchet are subpar games just because they released in the first year launch window....then that bodes really well for playstation. Can't even imagine the awesome shit we'll get once it "ramps up"
Obviously not what I was talking about
