I would definitely be missing out. Removing the additional benefits of smoother frame rates and faster load times you still got:
Demons souls, returnal and ratchet and clank that are all must play titles.

Infinite only showed the single player. The only thing bad about it was the graphics. Graphics still aren't anything special but the gameplay is fun and that's what matters in games.

Love how Sony had PS now for quite a while before gamepass existed and now that Xbox players have their own they use it as if it's this 2nd coming when in fact it's really no better.

Halo games aren't really story driven.
Not entirely sure about that. Tarantino makes a large variety of types of movies....hideo hasn't done much more than metal gear solid.

Easier replacement is returnal with psychonauts and horizon with death loop. User reviews for death loop were pretty bad...not sure how it got selected. Other than the possible black character diversity thing.

Probably wouldnt beat it but then I'd show them how it's done and they'd get to see what a little effort does and how it pays off. Awesome story driven game is definitely how I would introduce a new gamer to gaming....instead of something so darn childish oriented like Roblox or cod or whatever other "accessible" triple A garbage is out ...

Returnal does no use repetition to flesh out game time. It uses rogue like elements similar to Hades if not the same. It's not a crutch it's part of the concept and it's executed beautifully. The 6 biomes are different so it's not even repetitive in that sense.
Minimal voice acting? Okay you can't be serious...it's has great voice acting and tons of it through m...
No returnal? That's gotta be a joke.
Game is easy. Not even close to being hard or niche. Beat it after by 3rd attempt and then consistently beat it several times.

The pandemic is the only reason we had the scalping problem to begin with.
The online only process due to the pandemic is what has prevented millions from getting it.
Making a nice long line beats online orders all the time.
Those 3rd party purchases were never the sole source of exclusives. Sony consistently delivered a variety of award winning games. Microsoft consistently delivered the same games that weren't all that great and if I recall not award winning. Except for maybe Ori

They must be good exclusives to matter. Hopefully xbox can deliver good ones otherwise playstation will continue to dominate in the exclusives department.

If you want to do it free you are limited and barred from certain collectibles.
So the progression is somewhat free. Heck they even show you when you level up what you are getting alongside what you "could" get. Thats psychological bullshit trying to get you to cough up some money.
As I suspected this "free" thing makes the overall experience worse. I'd rather pay once and never again.
