Pro is getting sidelined... it has suffered a bruised ego.
4 days and counting... 🦂
Yes, 4K assets are the textures applied to the geometry in the game, which are independent of the 4K resolution which is about the frame buffer. In addition to the 4K assets though, LOD changes on objects may happen farther out, and other things like better lighting or more grass on the ground, more hair, etc., will all be a real possibility too. Someone else also mentioned Supersampling as well, so there are lots of 1080p enhancements to be had with Scorpio.
I'm Gumb...
Jez Gordon says Battlefront 2 IS 4K/60 on Scorpio already!
Look, these are your quotes:
- Tech cycles are getting shorter... One more testamony of Sony supporting traditional console generations.
(Meanwhile, Sony releases the Pro which breaks console traditions in the most fundamental sense already.)
- MS (is) supposedly blurring the line between generations.
(What exactly is the difference between Sony and MS' design philosiphy then?)
I already pointed out that Pro is not designed ...
Ob1, you say, "...supporting traditional console generations..." like it's a good thing. Are you serious?
Your defense of Sony for making a console to cater to 4K when it doesn't do native 4K or support UHD is golden! 😆
Say you like Sony's games all you want. Hell, say MS doesn't have any if it makes you feel better. But lying to yourself about abandoning your software library being better simply because, "it's...
It's been shown to be around 120ms on PS4.
How are they on the defensive? Lol.
- They have a system that can't do 4K and devs don't seem eager to support it, while Scorpio is so easy to make enchancements to it only took one guy 48 hours to port Forza.
- Everything just works on Scorpio with no switches to flip to get benefits from the console.
- Scorpio makes 1080p gaming look better, Pro doesn't.
- Sony has a VR headset that's getting abandoned by them like every other ...
Two words: Input Lag.
If it ain't broke, lol...
Because buying a Scorpio-competitive computer would be way more expensive than Scorpio.
Memo: Scorpio ran between a 1070 and 1080 without maxing itself out. You must be one of those, "less than one percent" guys with a rig that could actually outperform Scorpio. Congrats on wasting a few grand so you could boast about it!
You mean Mixer. MS will be giving away prizes while people are watching the show via Mixer, and you have a chance to win at random!
Good one! 😆
They've said they have a lot of games stuff to talk about. They had to announce Scorpio early to make their presentation work. They've had games in development since before last year's show too. Phil even mentioned that their main focus is on games because their HW and OS stuff is ready for it, and that this year's E3 is going to be their best in a long time!
I'm getting super excited now, and ths rumor sounds interesting to say the least!!!
Not necessarily. MS says the believe in wireless for MR, but previously have made statements that they want to support multiple headset options from 3rd parties too. I wouln't read too much into anything just yet because wired and wreless could both still work. I interpretted his statement to mean that MS believes wireless is the best way to experience MR, not the only way, and wants it on Scorpio Day 1 with MR to offer the choice to consumers. Wired would certainly be more competitive...
👎 Common sense, booo!!! We don't any of that talk around here...
Yeah, a console that doesn't have digital outputs will work really well on a TV without analog inputs. Most TV's are digital only now.
Jim Ryan: BC isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Donald Trump: We don't need the Paris Climate Agreement.
One wants you to think Greatness Awaits, while the other wants to Make America Great Again. Both are idiots and neither stance is Great for anybody. But you're soooo right, Jim, why would anybody want to be able to keep their old games and go back to them later? I mean, when I buy movies I just watch them once, and never EVER want to watch them ...
Actually, Neon, I'm a MS guy. so I'm in the "my system has no games" category, lol, but I prefer it's games over any other system! 😄 Gamecube was the last Nintendo system I owned because I got tired of the same games getting rehashed over and over again and MS delivered a ton of fun games for me on the OG Xbox.
OTOH, I didn't like Sunshine or the Galaxy Games, hated the controls for Metroid, and was never a fan of Zelda. Luigi's Mansi...
Been hearing that every year, even though it's been changing.
