Doesn't have to, but it's clear that Microsoft wants to be the #1 console in the market from the crazy bundles/temporary price drop they've given. Plus I'm sure all companies strive to be #1.

Pretty sure if Microsoft wanted to attract more indie devs, they would have removed their indie parity clause. There really isn't a good reason for Microsoft to even have that policy.

PS4 and XB1 will have good exclusives. The PS4 just has a lot more with a lot of different genres. The XB1 seems to focus more on shooters (tomb raider,quantum break, halo 5, crackdown). I doubt you'd care though, your one of the biggest xbox fanboys on this site.

Having switched from Xbox 360 to PS4, I am more than excited to catch up on some of Sony's franchises. If you've played them then I don't see a reason why you'd need to subscribe, it is optional after all.

Tomb raider is a timed exclusive, who knows what platforms it'll be on. They haven't exactly confirmed anything because their details are a bit ambiguous.

You're assuming everybody has the ability to afford a PS4, Xbox one, Wiiu and a PC. In a perfect world, everybody has all consoles. This is not a perfect world.

1. Sony's first party lineup has all kinds of genres, JRPG, action/adventure, interactive horror, platformers etc so it appeals to all different groups.
2. Spread throughout the year which helps keep interest in the PS4.
3. Launch of the PS4 in china, cheaper, not region locked and has a lot of Chinese developers on board.

Just because Microsoft has a lot of money doesn't mean anything, they're a public company which means investors play a part in decision making. If they don't keep the investor's best interest at heart, they will lose support from those people.
