The Sony conference was kinda boring for a bit. I mean we already knew the big games coming ala the previous reveal. A lot of 3rd party games. Seeing the PS4 was cool, it looks kinda weird, but cool. The tech demo from QD was awesome. What I really wanted to see was Sony's policies and JT knocked it out of the park.

A true gamer would realize the long term implications of the direction MS is trying to take and how it could negatively impact the future of the industry. A true gamer would exhibit some form of self control and not buy every shiny new system or game just because. I come to the conclusion that you sir, are NOT a "true gamer".
We hear this all the time, "consoles are gonna die out, blah blah blah.". In fact, how many remember the rumor last year that vehemently stated that one of the Big 3 console makers was not going to be releasing a new console? Yet, we have a PS4, Xbone and Wiiu. That had this site in an all out flame war. This article is bullshit, plain and simple.
Not sure why you expected it to look next gen if it's releasing on the PS3 and 360. COD has always been developed for and on the 360, nothing changed for this COD. Until the PS3/360 aren't being supported I don't see anything change. Now...the COD that releases in 2014 for PS4/Xbone better have a NEW(not upgraded) engine or else the difference between COD and BF will be very embarrassing(more than it already is).

I disagree, the publishers NEED the console makers, not the other way around. Without the successes of the Big 3, there would be no EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc.
EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, maybe MS does need the publishers more than Sony or Nintendo. With the very few franchises that MS owns and self publishes they rely on 3rd parties more than anyone else.

Really? The direction of the brand has already been set, that's not going to change. It doesn't matter what shiny, new games they show, their policies have already been laid out for us to see. It's game over for them in my mind.
Allow me to play indefinitely offline. Don't force a PSeye on me. Don't infringe on my right to do with a game disc as I please after I buy it. Don't kill the rental market. If any one of these things ARE implemented I WILL NOT buy a PS4. I don't bash the Xbone simply because it's made by MS, I bash it because what they are doing with it IS JUST NOT RIGHT.
Agreed, that is the approach they will take. I can't wait for E3, seriously. From the good, bad and ugly that will come out from the Big 3, the internet is going to explode. I'm just hoping for stable internet connection so I can watch it.
@Mika, other than providing jobs GS isn't important to gaming and I'd argue they've done more to hurt gaming than to help. There are other retailers that sell games and before GS there were many more mom and pop shops as well.

That's what I've been thinking, if you want a Nintendo product the 3DS is the way to go, much better support than a Wiiu at this time.
