I think Sony's top priority is making it easier to develop for and decreasing losses made on the system.
Every platform needs time before games really start to show it off. all early titles can do is give you an idea of whats to come.
We would already have had new ones if Microsoft and Sony hadn't have taken such heavy losses.
Actually Nintendo have handled competition from the very start with handhelds. Game gear and Lynx are just two examples. The problem is nobody understands handhelds like Nintendo and nobody else has the franchises they do. Stuff like Mario, Zelda and especially Pokemon. Pokemon is what led to the success of gameboy and has carried them along since.
So yes they have trampled competition. Mobile gaming is the first thing to really put a thorn in Nintendo's side.

Yes. The games are a great bargain for casual gamers and unless other types of systems had similar pricing models casuals will take the free/cheap as chips games on the App store. Games on consoles will never be given away for free.
Wii U is next gen. Just not in power sense. But thats to be expected because Nintendo aren't competing with Microsoft and Sony. They are doing their own thing. Deal with it.
If you guys are right by the end of the year I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but until then Vita isn't in too much danger.
If your going to cry failure, wait and see how it's first year goes first.
As I said in another article £40? NO CHANCE!
A lot of places on consoles and handhelds we aren't paying cheaper prices though ;) £40 for New Mario 2?
NO CHANCE! Until people start using online pricing wisely and internet connections increase people won't take to it
Why not? mass Effect, AC, darksiders, NG, Aliens etc not enough for you?
I bet not even GTA V would sway you either. In which case, there is simply no please in you.
There is hope for Vita yes. i do believe things will pick up eventually. IF (and only if) things don't pick up at Christmas, then I will start thinking the system is failing. Until then, its too soon.
Right now Sony's top priority is getting Vita off the ground. They are too busy with that to even think about PS4.
I'm positive Wii U will have it better then Wii did for third party support. A lot of people are just spinning this "we ignored it because it couldn't run our engines" quote by developers and saying "what happens when 720 and PS4 come out?"
Xbox doesn't sell in Japan so at the very least, Japanese developers won't be going anywhere. Even when the new systems come out they first need to secure their place on the market and there is absolutel...
The sooner the better I say but I bet its late November or early December. Thats how it was with Wii. If October can happen then yes. DO IT!
We are all doomed in December anyway so Sony is too :P
They'll probably make sure the package gets "lost" in the post.
People keep saying digital will overtake and its still no happened. Internet connections aren't ready.
I thought they still understood gaming. I love my PS3 more than I loved my PS2.
Pachter still thinks it is.
Someone needs to leave this for his next prediction.

Respect from me Iwata. Glad to see Nintendo is following the route DLC was invented for. Adding to the game. Not holding things back and releasing when you feel like it.
