Final Fantasy VII would have been made very differently on N64. That much is certain. I wonder how it would have turned out.
Garbage. Sales are always the factor. Playstation expanded the market far more than anyone imagined. Anyone who thinks cartridges played a factor in anything may as well believe the world is flat.
Money. That is it.
If this game was an open world RPG like Skyrim, it could have been huge if Sony handled it right.
This would have easily wiped the floor with Dragon's dogma.
I agree pyramidshead. Its best to keep these things secret. I hope people don't start leaking more detailed information like Rare's many cancelled games (Kameo 2, Perfect Dark Core, Banjo Karts etc.)
Its sad because it could very well have been huge. I guess Sony didn't have enough faith in it.
I don't know why people are surprised MS is thinking strongly about this. Aaron Greenberg always implied there was pressure in the company to drop Xbox. What people don't get is it might have successfully gained a strong position in market share but they haven't even broke even with the brand. From a financial perspective the brand is a failure. Many higher ups will be looking at the bottom line. Regardless of how rich MS are they want it to make profit. If it doesn't, they wi...
I don't know who disagreed with you. You are correct. You can argue 3DS had a much bigger price slash but it also happened mid Summer.
While the price drop may not have been as big it was much faster.
My local Game has a window with tonnes of them brand new for various prices. It needed a price drop in the same way 3DS did and rightfully it is taking heat because of it.
There has always been a huge question mark over how Titanfall will really sell. It could turn out like Gears of War but it could just as easily turn out like Zombi U.
MS and EA have definitely been putting a lot of hype behind it but pre-orders don't seem to be very good.
A price drop already? I did notice the shelf space was less than the others at my local stores but this seems a bit too soon.
Its barely been out 3 months. I wonder what the reaction as a whole will be considering the outrage that happened with 3DS in a slightly longer time frame.
It reminds me Mega Man Legends 3. Games shouldn't be announced unless they are guaranteed to come out. Otherwise you are just getting people's hopes up.
Its obvious the Bioshock Levine promised will never happen even if Vita manages to get a Bioshock game. Unless Borderlands 2 is a success then it is useless to dream. Even if it is successful the best Vita can hope for with Bioshock is a port.
I would like to point out that despite the media rambling and blasting, if you actually pay attention to what sources around you say XBO is doing worse than Wii U was at this point.
Wii U isn't doing hot but hopefully they turn it around.
Sounds like it isn't only being abandoned on Wii U after all if this is true.
And yet people will continue to deny XBO is in no danger.
If these statistics keep up how much market share could Sony potentially steal?
Of course Microsoft say XBO is fine so it must be.
People need to start using that picture of Pachter more often. It gives a better look at what words coming out of his mouth sound like.
I agree with you Erudito. I can understand how the obsession works as I was once one of the guilty people plowing through games but eventually I felt burned out on them. I was neglecting games I really enjoyed just for more platinums. I now only hunt them down in games I really enjoy as they became somewhat of a "chore" to me.
I used to love the concept but over time I have began to see the dark sides to it. And there are more than you think. I could not leave Force...
@ christocolus
Technically Titanfall doesn't count since the IP is owned by EA. True the original will stay exclusive but sequels are almost certainly going to turn to Sony's garden.
I was referring to IPs MS have full control over and Titanfall isn't one of them.
People said MS need more true exclusives. Their wish has been granted.
It would be awesome to see some more developers jump on the Vita. Its a fantastic piece of hardware.
You don't go from selling 22 million to 100 million because of a fad.
I said RPG. Not fantasy. Read the article and it is implied it took a similar DIRECTION to them. That doesn't mean it was fantasy. It means it was taking their styles.
