Its easy to see where Nintendo were coming from. They needed games which have mature stamps on their library. People can dismiss that but yes, every manufacturer needs a broad portfolio. They likely had faith Itagaki knew what he was doing and put a lot of faith in him to deliver.

Instead him and his team made all the blunders pretty much every other Japanese developer makes only up to 1000. This game has the same "locations" concept as NG3 combined with bad one...

Is this what the Mother 3 joke from E3 meant?

Yes I read it. Care to prove that the amount of Playstation and Xbox fans are significantly higher than the amount of Wii U owners who would buy GTA V?

They wouldn't. A few complainers like Rubin and Pachter do not anywhere near equate to the masses. Pretty much every Nintendo fan out there knows and accepts you have to buy Nintendo systems to play their games (which are currently far better quality then anything EA have on PS4 or XBO).

Nintendo style gam...

They wouldn't for two reasons.

1. Nintendo executives are not interested in Playstation and Xbox (which is where you assume they would go). They are interested in concocting shovelware on smart phones. That would decline sales within months.

2. The internet blows the REAL DEMAND for Nintendo's games on other systems way out of proportion. Know why games suited to online gamers do poorly on Nintendo systems? Because they are DIFFERENT audiences. The au...

I think whenever a company stops making video game hardware they should stop making video game software as well. They should take another approach with their franchises instead.

Sega work much better as a publisher than a developer but with the development costs of AAA games they have pretty much failed as a publisher as well.

Going third party did not help Sega at all. It has just made them stay afloat longer in the video game market. Leaving their home hard...

Link and Toon Link unlock a weapon in Hyrule Warriors so yes they are essential if you want to experience everything in a game.

And don't pretend a weapon is not a major part of a Warriors game either.

I completely understand the author's view point here. They start with a costume here or a weapon there but then you get Street Fighter X Tekken.

If Bayonetta sold so well on 360 and PS3 the sequel would have come to the systems Platinum intended it to be on.

A lot of people focus specifically on sales figures of games when defending third parties but don't take into account that sales aren't cutting it anymore.

If sales are all that matter then explain why Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Dead Space 3, Sleeping Dogs and Hitman are all stated by their publishers to be commercial failures.

Provided they give me a compelling reason to use them I will. Can you battle just one of your Amiibos on screen or can you have each one fill a spot? If they take up all three match spaces these can put up better fights than plain CPU opponents. In that case it would be worth training them.

I'm surprised by the popularity of these things looking at the pre-orders.

At least it indicates it won't be a throw away add-on like the DK bongos were. I'm curious to see where they go with these things.

@ Concertoine

You are only counting half the facts. Don't think that Sony don't want Nintendo's type of success on handhelds because you are wrong. Sony is not on top of everything. It is only PS4 which is a success. The Vita has pretty much been given up on. Something I feel is a huge mistake because of the potential of that system not being realized.

Honestly 3DS might not be meeting the expectations of the big wigs but for all the nay-saying it...

Microsoft will have nothing to say about it unless Greenberg changes his mind.

Mr Pumblechook

I think he is paid. XBO has been getting outsold by every other major system on the market yet he has not acknowledged how badly they are doing.

If Japanese companies focus on handhelds and PS4 exclusively the overseas fanbases of those types of games will buy the systems.

Once Microsoft lose Japanese companies they will find it extremely hard to bring them back again.

4213d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

They didn't even release Injustice with it and delayed a Lego game.

Lets not bend the truth here media. WB hardly had faith in XBO to begin with.

Indies have never liked Microsoft. Nothing new here.

Just another studio for them to mismanage. See Rare and Bungie (the latter admitting to separating from Microsoft because of their control).

Yeah. Its just that it has been tried with PSP Go. XBO. And will no doubt be tried again.

Going off the sales of those ventures I am not seeing it being inevitable. It is only inevitable if people agree to it and there has been no sign of that for big budget games.

Smaller games from indies and on smart phones sure but PSP Go and XBO failed. As long as competition exists this future will never happen.

Pachter is the one who said it and we know his track record.

Honestly I am starting to believe these conspiracy theories that companies might be paying him to make these predictions.

To all the people above saying it will happen, XBO and PSP Go beg to differ. You guys think people are so desperate for video games that they will do anything a company tells them to but I beg to differ. You guys seriously underestimate people's willpower.
