Exactly, you wouldnt believe how many disagree's I got on this site when I expressed my concern about this when it was being developed.
I don't believe they do. I imported the new Solder of Fortune 2 when i came out, L4D2, GTA4...many others.
I'm sure they could confiscate it if they wanted to get tough though.

Being from Australia I can confirm this. Prices are stupid. Most of my game I now import from the UK.

I like the battlefield series. I've playing them since 1942. I was annoyed they didn't include a bot mode to practice flying and weapons with. I hope the next installment includes it.

What is is saying is optimization on the PS3/360 hardware has been happening since 2005/2006. Sure we have seen great improvements since then as that is many year of optimization. But now, 6-7 years later games aren't going to magically look much better than they presently do.
I owned both copies. It was hardly night and day difference. It was punch for punch. 360 had an edge slightly in AA and FPS. PS3 handed shadows much better. 360 pawned it for online, that's why I have both.

Personally I hate paying subscriptions. I won't to own a game and play it as much or as little as I want, whether is today or ten years from now. This can't happen with MMO's due to the servers. Because of this MMO's are very much trends. They are either thriving or dying.
I hope it can be as good as or a touch better for a short while. It definately won't be on paper but the console only needs to run the game. Any the DEVs can work their magic knowing what the limitations are. I just want games to be running at 60fps. It gives games such a nice feel. I'd rather play 720p at 60fps than 1080p at 30fps. Who knows, maybe we'll have a choice, but I doubt it.
Nice write up champ. I enjoyed the read. This is my opinion, but I think if we were to look into what sort of PSU is going into the next console, it would shed some light on the components they are putting in. Ie. 200 or 300W
Reply with your thoughts but I was under the impression the AMD Mobile GPU's would be candidates. For example the new AMD 7970M runs on 100 watt and produces the best results per watt. In terms of speed they compete with some of the Desktop monsters too.

I'm very much into PC gaming lately. Especially as the consoles reach the end of their life cycle. I do agree that consoles are often a far simpler affair for people who want to jump on, party chat and game without worrying about much else. Thats usually me. However a PC can be set up in a similar fashion with a bit of effort, and is far more rewarding.
Max Payne was always much darker. It also used digitized graphics and was never so colorful.
So for most Max Payne 1 & 2 veterans, it didn't feel the same.
Although I enjoyed the game... it felt like they made a it, and decided to shoe horn Max Payne into it towards the end.
