After 7 years of the PS3/XBOX being out there is no way in hell any competing company would release a new Console with a GPU that has half the power. If that were the case, Nintendo would just keep selling the Wii and not even bother.
I call massive BS on this rumor.
At present day it would cost more $$$ to find a GPU that was 2 times slower to put inside. Pretty much any off the shelf performance GPU is going to be as fast or faster now.
Yeh it is steep for what it is. But I did like that it allows for desktop GPU upgrades . But like you mentioned its really just an overpriced box but I suspect the Valve console may not have been much different unless they offered some nice streamline plug and play setups through their distro service.
I ended up ordering a m18x since the consoles are taking their sweet a$s time.

I only had the first resistance. Nothing wrong with it Perce' - just nothing that stood out - just like Halo. Both arnt bad games but both are far to overhyped - especially Halo..understandably its all microsoft have but..seriously..Take ur pick, there are hundreds of other FPS better than either of these games.

As much as I love the Forza series the graphics of this new one are nothing special at all.
Anyone one who plays Forza seriously doesnt play for the graphics anyway...and that why this new one looks like a watered down peice of rubish.

I think a 7970 can handle it without breaking too much of a sweat.
I highly doubt a crossfire 7970 setup would be needed to run it. Its a pretty sweet looking game but do have a second look.

Time to throw my Xbox in the toilet. Seriously where are the games?! All I use the useless thing is for party chat these days and it can't even do that right cos the wireless set barely works now. MS has the worst build quality and now no games make me forget about it.

I couldn't care who copied who or fan-ish semantics. That's what happens. A good design is usually copied and refined. What matters most is the end user gets the best of generations of contoller tech and ergonomic evolution.
The controller looks very decent. Plus it also looks like the Dpad is good enough for fighters too.
