Interesting article. games do help with life's hardest times that's for sure. an interesting game to add to the list is - Life is strange. it's not horror but it's got a interesting story that quite a few can connect with.
"While that is generally the rule... in this case it very well may have the potential to be next gen on gpu specs alone. "
It still doesn't justify as a next gen leap. the Original Xbox and Dreamcast were both 128 bit consoles and at opposite ends.
"Remedy Had Been Thinking About Going Multiplatform for a Long Time"
??
they have always been a 3rd party studio...they mean back to making multiplatform games like the MP series.
"Death Stranding is now using Decima Engine. That Engine is made by GG."
Both Ready at Dawn and Remedy said the same thing about their engines before listing pc. Just about All game engines support PC by default, PC is the basis for C++ programming. technically only a contract would suspend a developer from releasing a pc version. In RAD's case they had implemented pc support but they were under strict contract at the time not to release anything.
"The much anticipated Death Stranding will not be present at E3 this year."
So how much more time for some gameplay footage? E3 projects a year or so in advance. so next year is gameplay, and 2019 is the actual launch? any further and it's next gen confirmed.
"WHY are people still giving this thing money?"
Because they have the money for it. just like they have the money to buy gaming pcs. it's their money.
"Would you welcome an XB1/PS4 Handheld?"
not so much for me. i never have the time that i wish when i'm on the go to play anything big. even when i make time it's still not enough and so i'm just fine with stationary gaming.
PC's outlasted through the generations, since the dawn of the tech age. ha-ha!
"Turtle Rock’s Steve Goldstein believes the console game industry lacks risk takers"
And that's where PC always comes out on top. there are no risks on PC, it's all risk free. which is why lots of people start their fame and create dozens of projects on pc. in fact that's how max payne, portal, half life, the witcher, WoW, black desert, league of legends, DOTA, Overwatch, Minecraft, and Hitman all started.
^^ there's no way a 16 tflops gpu alone could be sold for $250 within the next 3 years. the AMD firePro S7150X2 (16Tflops) still goes for $3,000 retail. times are changing for the consoles, this is why the consoles now have mid-cycle upgrades.

Maybe so. or maybe someone else was just too sensitive about the quality of the fan creation. There are some quite talented artists around the world.

"I've been tired of seeing these unoriginal recreations since they were more reoccurring on N4G. Like, who the fuck cares if some guy spent his time copy-pasting a Level, Design, models, that another artist did in a game? It's like an artist grabbing a paper and tracing the art, exactly the same thing. I have no need to be impressed by some guy who 'traced' a level that another guy made, and all they did was put it in a different engine to help ...
no. the crowd funding for mighty no. 9 was absurd, this game i can see why.
"*NVIDIA showcased one character from Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV running in real-time on its new NVIDIA Volta GPU"
well don't forget Kingsglaive was also created using assets not optimized for gaming. In the making of Agni's philosophy video the artists said they spent unnecessary resources on the smallest things for their movie characters. because they're not meant to be used for games. millions of polygons for just hair and facial hair alone.

this DLC is so addictive like seriously. Turn 10 just keeps on making fun and entertaining games. These guys should seriously keep making more expansion content like this.
@ Bigpappy
well there are games that are well optimized on pc too. it has come along way with support. but i actually wasn't getting at this. PC actually does have exclusive features that remain "untested" for consoles, like Nvidia's VXAO, Hairworks and Fluidworks. which consume lots of GPU power. Nvidia is always trying to implement new features in pc games. this is why i say "more features in mind."
there's a bit of a difference though, the games on Scorpio are being built with resolution in mind. PC games are built with features in mind. more features = GPU more stress.
It's quite clear of there being evidence to support spencer's positive sportsmanship. the only thing can be produced to rival the claim is disagreement from a competitive perspective.
what kind of a war are we talking about? I thought it was all about just having fun playing some games....
now every game needs to be accounted for in order to have fun...
"well that's the price of 4k assets"
A well worth it price for better textures. you know i notice a strange contradiction of the last generation here. first people said during the last gen that games should be large for crisp detail, now people are saying more space is too much for games. ....
