Skimmed it now. Some real nonsense. You're a waste if time.
Cloudgine have been bought to continue their work on on-demand cloud compute, bringing advanced physics to Unreal Engine 4. That's what their statement says anyways, but I'm sure Morganfell knows more, and isn't just blowing his fanboy trumpet as per usual form...
Maybe you were downvoted because that's a dumb thing to say. Why would Epic invest in Cloudgine if the tech doesn't work? :-/
Sony may not need to, but us gamers surely hope they do. Just imagine how good a Sony Game Pass would be!
Gotta say though, if single player games get you that hyped up you should possibly maybe consider that other console...
Oh I'm sure Phil Spencer has said many things, but the argument being put forward here is that we shouldn't believe things Phil Spencer says.
I think the cloud tech was responsible for delays and very extended development period up to the end of last year. However, I think the final delay was actually a direct result of the game being shit.
What you are saying is that it is too good to be true? Then I suggest you get it and enjoy it while it lasts, and cancel if/when Microsoft jack the price up 800%. That'll teach 'em!
You have no faith and no heart. You are full of logic and hatred. And maybe spaghetti.
So... You are saying that MS don't care about single player games, based upon them not talking about how many consoles they have sold?
What are you basing that on?
What happened to your heart? :(
I don't think MS have neglected single player games this gen. They have lacked games in general, and they haven't had many critical successes at all, but single player isn't unique in that.
They launched with Ryse and Dead Rising which both support co-op, but were primarily single player. They invested swagbags into Rise of the Tomb Raider, and they funded what is probably the highest budget single player only game this gen in Quantum Break. Their holy trio of G...
No you seem to have missed the question. I didn't say Sony don't have any patents or streaming technology, I asked what "critical" patents they hold? As in what patents do they hold that would make it difficult for Microsoft to offer a streaming service?
FWIW, Microsoft have also been working on streaming technology for many years, and have a tonne of patents in that area. I would be surprised if they don't bring any of that to market within the next c...
What patents? I don't think Sony own any particularly critical patents for games streaming?
Whatever Sony do have patented isn't stopping NVidia offering a technically far superior streaming service, so I doubt Microsoft will have any insurmountable obstacles in their way.
It is definitely either desperation or pure unfettered evil.
Vote.
Conceptually Now is the Netflix of gaming. Unfortunately the quality and content are not there yet.
I want to love PSNow, but compressed 720p streaming and stereo sound pretty much kill it. Hopefully they can address it sooner rather than later.
Obviously if they then followed Microsoft's policy of adding their own games on launch then it'd become an amazing service.
I'd say the opposite. It says little of their effort to sell consoles or catch Sony, and everything about their long-term strategy.
Microsoft have said that yes, that's exactly what they want.
They did, but they pulled it off of most devices. They only really support PS4 and PC now. Strange choice as it seems a great fit for TVs such, but maybe they will get back into that area later.
"I hope Spencer can put his mouth where it counts the most."
This is my new favourite phrase, I am going to use it all the time. Bookmarking this page for quick reference when I find myself pulled into HR.
