Spider-Man 2 was slightly shorter than Spider-Man PS4 despite costing $300m+.

A bigger budget doesn't imply a longer length and a similar length doesn't imply the scope hasn't gotten more impressive. What matters are the set pieces and what we've seen of Hellblade 2 so far exceeds the biggest set pieces of the first.

@Sonic ok, so you played the game with low quality tv speakers, got it.

You played the game in the worst possible way.

Being first person, we're hearing people wish it was third person and write it off as if they've never heard of MachineGames or their stellar track record on Wolfenstein. Good going gamers, keep on gatekeeping what isn't yours!

If it was third person, we'd be hearing PS fans all day saying Xbox had to copy Uncharted.

I for one welcome MachineGames' judgment and expertise in doing what they do best.

Until Dawn is second party - developed by a third party studio but published by Sony.

TLOU was also remade because its tech was based in the PS3 era and there wasnt visual consistency with Part 2.

Using the tv show as the exclusive reason would give equal weight to GOW 2018 needing a remake because it too is getting a tv show.

Nevermind the example of Twisted Metal where it got a tv show but no game around it (remake, remaster, new title - not even an announcement of "hey we're working on something")

Titanfall 2 is remembered today so fondly because of its single player campaign, regarded as one of the best FPS campaigns of all time.

The multiplayer was broken for a long time and it released to an empty playerbase because EA scheduled it to release between COD and BF.

@Sonic

I'll take a guess you played it using speakers and not headphones? Such a disservice to the game *especially* if it wasn't surround sound.

Hellblade 1 with headphones, binging through it on a rainy day, is one of my top gaming moments. Even still through today, I haven't heard a game present itself the way that Senua's Sacrifice did, so incredibly and articulately.

You spelling that out made me realize...
Every Naughty Dog game made in the last full decade has been remastered or remade already. That's crazy.

Not as crazy as remaking Horizon Zero Dawn though, I don't know who the market would be for that. It's not like TLOU Part 1 where it's a quick 10-15hr linear trip, it's a 50+ hour open world game with both a 60fps patch and a mechanically-superior sequel already built for PS5.

I'd presume so, especially after the TLOU Part 2 Remastered upgrade option.

Surprisingly short list in the article - all the games are tagged here already.

Rebirth tops my personal list currently but I'm almost equally excited for Hellblade 2 (to binge in a day like I did the first), Avowed, Indiana Jones, and Dragons Dogma.

Second tier for me would be Silksong, Paper Mario, Stellar Blade, and hopefully finally the Elden Ring DLC

I hope Sony has something else huge up their sleeves for 2024 aside from SB an...

Ninja Theory hasn't given any indication that this was going to be something radically different so that's kinda on you.

They've shown more of the same (for years now) but with significantly higher fidelity.

I finished FFXVI last night and man... Such good combat and a solid core narrative, but an absolute slog in almost every other way.

Useless cutscenes. Cutscenes that required additional cutscenes to fill in context. Having to go talk to Vivian to get that context. Characters that talk super slow in other minor cutscenes. Getting taken to the map screen (after a cutscene) just to select the one mandatory location (which then loads another cutscene). The empty Spoils screen t...

It already has. Duolingo is a specific example where contractor roles and certain positions have been removed and effectively been replaced by AI.

Jin's just a pot calling a kettle black. He reads his own comments as little as the articles he comments on.

He could've even just read the description here and deduced it:

I've still got my old OG, a 360, One X, Series S and X. Over the weekend I picked up Sudeki and Brute Force for some day when I decide to pull back out that OG, or maybe an emulator on my PC with a plugin disc reader.

A Series X digital revision that isn't more performant makes a decent Series S replacement I suppose but it's the nail in the coffin for any physical disc support I feel in what they do next gen, *if* no external drive support comes with it.

The reviewer did bring it up, so your little rant is pointless, even more pointless directed at me considering I have no interest in buying this day one or even day 100.

As with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, I might get it in a year or so when it's 50-75% off on a Steam sale.

I hope this device doesn't hit market in this way. If the device itself doesn't change, they at least need an external disc drive or the Series X will likely be the last Xbox console I invest in.

What would be the point when my OG & 360 BC library exists on disc, their new games are Day One PC with cross-save, and Series X now already does what it can for the older titles?

They did mention it, with a link to their own article covering it.

It's a lie to say they didn't bring it up.
