There are more than just teething issues and server instability. Apparently the anti-cheat behaves like a rootkit. Frequent crashes.

Hard to say since Sony was even less generous with review codes than WB.

Explains why there were no pre-release reviews to yet another GaaS launch.

The guy that said he's balls deep in a video game is calling others weird?

Weird as heck using that to put down another game's free update.

"I don´t believe that. Octopath 2 is available on Xbox but the original Octopath is not available on Playstation.

This bs narrative that Xbox gamers don´t buy games needs to stop."

Octopath 2 is not yet available on Xbox - it will be sometime "early 2024". It's on PC already, just only through Steam and not the Microsoft Store. A date still hasn't been set.

So not only was Square's Game Pass exp...

@Everton & Redemption

I bought the title on PS5 because the demo was fantastic and is the type of game I want to play and support.

But Ubisoft has such awful documented corporate culture, it's easy to look away on that basis alone. Then they go out of their way, in any context, to suggest ownership is bad and we need to get used to not owning our games.

It's not being a sheep at all, in any way, to not buy the games from a c...

@Obscure

Their numbers don't support what you're trying to suggest. For all we know, an Xbox version of 16 would've increased dev costs and sales wouldn't have offset that because of the now-indisputable fact that Xbox gamers are fewer, buy less games, and Microsoft is more than content with that. Bringing 16 to the Switch was impossible given their tech target.

If Square's earlier support of Game Pass and being in the Xbox ecosystem w...

Microsoft needs to clarify this asap - it's darn embarrassing and shows a massive disregard to their platform, its fans and the developers making content for their platform, dragging everything they try to make into part of the console war.

It would be funny though if Starfield gets DualSense on the PS5 before Xbox releases the updated controller with haptics...

I wasn't expecting Indiana this year either.

Next year... Gosh they could show anything. Those three you mentioned, anything that gets announced at E3, the next Gears, the next id game, the next Double Fine game, South of Midnight, Contraband.

Xbox 360 basically tripled the sales over the original Xbox and spent most of the generation ahead of the PS3.

But that's where they squandered their opportunity - Kinect, the $500 launch price, the non-gamer features; they completely did an about-face 180 after having a pretty damn good lineup with the 360.

Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Halo at its prime, diverse titles at a consistent rate from late 2005 through 2011/2012. Sony with the PS4 ate up ever...

It'll be nice going back soon, since that was even before DLSS got patched in

They had the most successful exclusively single-player game in 15-20 years. It may just end up being the most commercially successful SP-only game in gaming history as the years go on.

Their reaction: "Never again!!"

Saying they're *just* morons is being friendly.

That is not true and is something that's been known for years.

MS has paid up front. MS has paid for development costs. MS has paid based on game playtime.

Nevermind the incentive of giving players the best version regardless of where they play so that they'd be more likely to recommend the game to friends or purchase themselves if/when the game is removed from the service.

If response is "crickets" it is because the game was replaced by GT7 two years ago at this point and the playerbase moved on already.

A very positive and very pro-consumer move would be to... never have always-online functionality in single-player components. It shouldn't take a game's death to let it live offline. Rocksteady is at least openly committed to providing an offline mode this year for Suicide Squad. Forza Motorsport unfortunately took GT7's...

At this point it may just be better if they do a Complete Edition after all these updates and upcoming dlc.

But with Epic as the publisher... I cast doubt on even that
