This game is looking to be really great! To be honest I didn't expect anything too above average when I first heard about it. I was interested... but I didn't want to expect too much. However, now that we've gotten to see more of it and I've been hearing all the hands-on impressions... it appears it will be a solid title! The world is not actually 2D. It's a full 3-dimentional world. You could say it's predominately a side-scroller but it actually has 'depth' to its levels as well. If you've seen some of the presentations there are certain parts where you actually jump on ledges that are 'in the background' so to speak. The controls bugged me a little too. They weren't terrible... but I think they could do with some improving. I don't get why you get these horror games that give you such a limited range of motion as well.
I also believe the game is a bit too dark and had the same reaction to it. Something that would have helped greatly is not having the flashlight reset back to the same position once you stop tilting the right analog stick.

There's actually some surprises on the list as well as the overrall. The biggest being Fallout 3... which I'm interested in... but it really just looks like Oblivion in a different setting. Yeah, I noticed that the enemies appeared a little dumb in some of the E3 footage. Or at least rather easy... but it makes sense that they'd tone it down for the event so that they could show everything off more easily. Heck, Ted Price almost died during his Resistance 2 demonstration. That would have been embarrassing! But even in the event that the A.I. isn't where it needs to be, they have so much time to work all of that out. Honestly, I didn't mind that some enemies...
Another title that has got me so stoked! Yes, I said STOKED! I think those at Zipper know exactly what they're doing so I have little doubt this is going to be a killer game. They're sticking with what they do best, but expanding on it. Perhaps they will slap the SOCOM name on their for instant brand recognition, but I think even without it this game is bound to take off.

It's quite strange that they'd include R2-D2 in the game when there's many more characters in the Star Wars universe better suited for a fighting game. You'd expect him to suck big time but who knows, they may have given him some crazy power and range. Though like Yoda he's quite short. I don't know how anyone else feels, but that really sucks for me. The visuals in this game are gorgeous and I hated that animated trailer. I'll still likely buy it since the gameplay is what matters most in a title like this... but damn... that's some disappointing news.
