The author of the article is a massive extremist. How can anyone try to claim that simply by changing the feel of the controls, the tactics and teamwork aspect of kz2 won't be present in kz3?
"The game just won't have that factor that differentiates it from the rest of the party." Are you seriously trying to suggest that the sole defining factor of KZ2 was that it's controls felt different to other games?
Fans of the game should be dee...
It's amazing how many people don't understand that when they want to convey how little they care about something, they should say "couldn't care less", not "could care less".
I just finished GTA IV yesterday, and I've gotta say the game is pretty impressive. People complain about the driving physics, but they aren't bad at all other than the slightly too stiff steering. The only other problem I had with the game was the non existent checkpoint system. Why must you be forced to redo an entire mission, including travel when you fail right at the end.
Crysis 2, Medal of Honour, LittleBigPlanet 2, Gran Turismo 5, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood are my top 5.
Runners up are a lot of the new IP's, like Brink, Enslaved: Oddessy to the West, Quantum Theory (despite all the delays), The Agency and Vanquish.
Some other more established IP's like Fallout, COD, Dead Rising 2, Driver: SF, NFS: HS, Guitar Hero 6, HAWX 2, Mafia 2, True Crime and Socom all look good, although I'm gonna have to choose on...
Heavy Rain, The Saboteur, GOW3, and Bad Company 2. Haven't played any of the games on the list except HR and GOW. Will eventually get Red Dead, but the other games on the list don't interest me, especially FF13 and SMG2. Also looking at Just Cause 2 and Dantes in my 2010 back catalogue, and maybe singularity, Blur, Split/Second and MNR. God damn it.
Killzone ain't as great as people make it out to be, graphics are ok, but gameplay is pretty bland.
Having said that, if they had a crysis style on the fly weapon customisation system, I would have enjoyed the combat more, as the weapons you get are often I'll suited to your task.
For me, most dissapointing games I have for PS3 are
1: Far Cry 2
2: Operation Flashpoint 2 - Not a bad game, but should have been so much better.
3: Bad Company 2 - Great SP, but online is appallingly laggy and buggy. Dice really need to hire some decent net coders. Again, should have been better.
4: Ghost Recon: AW2 - Without doubt the worst game I've ever played, god knows how this has average ratings of ~90 on metacritic.
For what it...
Too hard to say seeing as we haven't played them, but I'm gonna say that Crysis 2, GT5, LBP2, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Brink, Fallout: New Vegas, Hawx 2, MoH, NFS: HS, or Socom 4 will get the award from me. That's a lot of gaming to get through in a few short months.
Well if you want to impress the masses, then I'm sure Black Ops will be giving Internet servers a workout more so than Reach
Have any Australian readers seen anyone listing a price for move over hear yet? I'm getting kinda interested in it now, the thought of playing Socom 4, KZ3 and Heavy Rain with move is quite a good one, not to mention a couple of the other games already announced.
Sounding desperate now mate
Well, have you heard any of them complaining? Me either...
Lol, owned
...finding the truth"
What a weird thing to say, given the context. Do you envisage a world in which xbox live becomes free and no one notices?
Well apparently, according to #10, "ps3 exclusives pwn most PC games", so maybe you should have a word with him yeah?
I will if you can find a ps3 + 1080p tv for the same amount as I can build a computer to run Crysis on high + 1080p HD display for ($800-$900).
Really, so Crysis 2 and Rage have completely slipped your radar like the rest of your fanboy friends?
Edit: Erm, surely it should matter more if it's not an exclusive, because if a dev can make a game look better across 3 platforms than all our ps3 exclusives, then it could easily make it look better if it went exclusive. I dunno, am I missing something?
@ 1.0 - Made them popular but shit?
On topic, Brink looks good, except for very flat ground texture, otherwise all other games on the list look good. Oh, Except Black Ops, looks more or less the same as other COD's.
@ 2.1.4 - Sure the picture you showed is all good, but it's from a pre rendered cutscene, so who cares?
@ 1.2.2 - Killzone 3 may be in pre alpha, but it is not going to get any better graphically. You see, the only reason ...
They actually showed journos 3d gameplay, so stop trolling.
Edit: If Crysis 2 is cartoony, then what would you call Halos gameplay or uncharteds graphics?
Your comment on invisibility not being original is on the mark, but the nanosuit is an innovative idea and revolutionises gameplay. Seeing as you admit to playing ps3 a lot, you'll no doubt have heard of killzone 3's jetpacks. People ate saying how great this is, but if you want originality, then so...
I honestly believe that Crytek have already proven themselves capable of developing the best or very near the best graphics, physics, and AI available, along with original and existing gameplay as well.
I don't see what's not to like, they make good games, and provide the best tools in the business so that other companies can make the best games possible as well.
