Apart from Saints Row which is highly recognised, I would have to say that the other 4 are hardly household names for most people.

They aren't saying they should copy CoD, they are just saying they should look at what other games do well and make sure that they do them well too.
@ Hicken - I tend to agree that sports games don't count myself. However, it has become a popular stance to take that each 'new' CoD should be released as DLC, since all it adds is new weapons, maps and a 5 hour campaign. If all that can only be considered worthy of a DLC release, then how can a new player roster and a few gameplay tweaks warrant a completely new game?

Yeah it was a bit dissapointing that Treyarch got rid of several PSN features that were in MW2 for Black Ops, hopefully they all make a return in MW3.

Isn't this Warhead as well though? Look at the trailer and a lot of that footage is from Warhead I'm pretty sure. It's been a while since I've ran through Crysis or Warhead so I might be wrong.
Looks pretty impressive though, glad console gamers will get the chance to see just how good a game it is.

It was cool to hate on the gameplay, but when I first played Crysis it was instantly my favourite game ever and that was with the graphics on low. Crysis is easily one of the most unique and best FPS games from the last 5 years, if you decide not to give it a chance then you are missing out.
Thye did make noises about it being a trilogy, but it is going to be pretty difficult for them to play out an entire world war from start to end in one 4-8 hour campaign don't you think? I would be surprised if MW4 never comes about.
It's not inconsistent information, you just don't know what you're talking about. It is I thought well known that NPD track all games sold on all platforms sold at retail in the United States, they however do not track digitial download copies for PC for example.
If you want to know more, just google search NPD research methodology.

Death streaks are a good idea so long as they help the noob get better and dont just gift them a kill. For example the death streak in MW2 which drops a grenade after dying does absolutely nothing to improve the players skills, and as such is a dumb idea.
