Yeah I agree, but console Noobs still apparently get blown away by UC3, god knows how.
I know what you mean, being a fellow ACII platinum holder. However, I didn't really feel that satisfied with it, there was too much grinding to get it, so like I say below I was more relieved that the grinding was over than satisfied with getting it.
BioShock for me was the most satisfying (I only have three, BioShock, ACII and Modern Warfare 2), because it is difficult to get but at no point do you have to grind to get it, like you do in inFamous or ACII for example. When I got the ACII plat I was more relieved to finally have it than satisfied at finally getting it.
Keep dreaming EA. Call of Duty may not be the number 1 shooter in 3 years, but it won't be dead. MW3 will sell 25million or so, the series is not going to slide to selling any less than 10 million in the next 3 iterations, no way.
Battlefield 3 will no doubt take a serious chunk of the pie in terms of initial sales, mostly because of the hype surrounding it. However, BF3 still has to pass the test of whether the mass market is actually going to enjoy the team based combat...
Love the disagree, I can absolutely guarantee you that at the moment in Australia, Dead Island is US$49.99 from Steam.
It will be interesting to see what new game modes they have added, and hopegfully they've come up with a few near-future fantasy guns as well.
If it wasnt for the insane amounts of aliasing I would agree
$49 each on Steam at the moment
Its a bonus?
Cod map packs have never ever been on the disc...
Agreed, the only issue the xmb has is its speed while in game, and that is only because the PS3 has bugger all Ram. However, I wish they would make the text come up instantly instead of only when the image finally loads so that you can quickly navigate even in game.
The thing is, the couldn't even be bothered adding AA or uncapping the frame rate, pathetic.
Sexy, not the best graphics ever sure, but the atmosphere is fantastic.
I'll have to try it out when I get home. I have a measily HD5870 graphics card, which was easily enough to max Crysis 2 pre DX11/HR textures but now ranges between 15 and 35 FPS (running 11.7 drivers)depending on the level of DX11 features on screen.
I knew I should have gone with an Nvidia card, but they are just so much more expensive (at least in Australia) than AMD cards for the same performance. Not sure if I should buy a second 5870 to x-fire it or get a 6970/580GT...
@ Optical martix - BF3 is exactly the reason that EA didn't support Crysis 2, because they don't want competition in the shooter genre. You look at the push they gave Medal of Honor which is a far inferior game to Crysis 2, yet it got 10 times or more the marketing dollars than Crysis 2 did. Crytek should go to Bethesda, they know how to market games and they don't really have a similar game to Crysis 2 in their lineup.
I don't understand why Ubisoft still make games for the PC at all. They clearly don't care about the PC community, as every game they make is a piss poor port, arrives later than the console versions, has over the top DRM and gets no post launch support.
Perhaps Crytek are on to something with Warface then?
Lighting is heaps better with DX11, what is wrong with your eyes if you can't tell the difference?
And I know it isn't actually raytracing, it is real time reflections which are simulating ray tracing. That is why I wrote 'raytracing features' like so.
The 'raytracing features' are in Crysis 2 since DX11 update...
Why did no one troll the last article about Socom 4 pointing out how no one plays it anymore? Why are you PS3 fanboys so insecure about Crysis 2?
