well you are entitled to your opinion but as a huge fan of racing sim games, my opinion is that forza has been one of the most consistently good console based ones... definitely better than the last couple gran turismos.... and also... are they even comparable? Im looking forward to DC as well but my concerns are that it won't be fully sim'd out like forza and GT. i don't want it to be like Grid, Dirt or NFS... especially since Sony couldn't get there s**** together to make G...
need for speed has no excuse to be locked at 30 fps. its not pushing any hardcore physics, little to no AI. the car models are not super dense, nor the textures super high rez. if anything NFS should be the one running at 60 fps.
woohoo! wish it was a little sooner but having a date at all is great. i'll soon have a reason to break out the wheel on the ps4.
i think the biggest reason is because ubisoft has a deal with sony and the watchdogs IP so they play it up. I suspect the xOne version will be 900p but I could see it being 1080p if they both run at 30 fps. tomb raider was 1080p 30 and it was rock solid. Then again, Watchdogs will probably be a bit more intensive... i guess we won't know til we know :)
ah finally some sense to proverbial dick measuring contest that seems to result whenever a pc is mentioned these days. well played :)
also... a console... at least the last gen lasted only... hmmm 8 years. so $400 for 8 years of console. pc's last time i checked tend to be a lot more expensive. a decent graphics card costs almost as much if not more than most consoles and need to be updated every 1-3 years (considering most pc people really need to have the best as our dear friend "JLO" has pointed out above. this is only my own wild speculation of course but I'm not sure one ends up being cheaper than ...
ok i'll play along... "Oh. you have a gaming pc rig? how fascinating! please! go on!
does it have a stripe? two maybe? tell me. what 4k screen will you be playing on? those are very affordable and worth the money right now... maybe you should get 4 of them so you can really let us know how much better you are. man... i remember when 4k started coming out months ago... ahh those were the days. so much 4k content available these long days later. completely practical.....
haha. brilliant!
getting excited for this one.
i can't reply to your reply so i'm replying up one level...
even 1% of people buying an xbox of the 4 territories i mentioned is still 1.5 million consoles sold. now if you take the 36 other territories... even at less than 1% adoption the numbers would still be dramatically different - especially for a console. even if all the difference in territories only sold .2% of the entire consumer goods purchasing population, the numbers would be wildly different.
...
hmmm. i don't quite agree with you here. this assumes that every territory is selling more ps4's than xOnes every month. In the US alone there have been a few months with the xOne outselling the PS4. There was at least one month in the UK around the Titanfall launch that the xOne even outsold the PS4 there (unheard of for xbox thus far). You are assuming that numbers and rates are static, which they hardly are at all. Many factors go into how many units sell through. (availabilit...
i see a lot of comments about these numbers being way off, but from what i can see from information available on the internet, they aren't that far off. people seem that the xOne numbers are always on a positive climb while the ps4 is always on a negative slide. the truth (i assume) is the people in the market for a ps4 has probably hit its peak - at least til the next big must have title or feature is released. The other factor being supply issues. Apparently PS4's are still hard ...
he/she is definitely familiarized with unnecessarily snotty, pointless comment replies now... way to go.
i could be wrong but i think it ultimately comes down to licensing/requirements on this version of the engine. i think Epic had restructured they're user agreements on the latest version.
agreed. all of the marketing and advertising has been about the ps4. they have even had sony purchased interviews so the devs could praise the ps4 development without even acknowledging the xbox one at all (good or bad).
boo.
@WHITEY2K: The ps4 cpu is an 8 core, as is the xbox ones, the ps4 runs at a lower clock speed (1.6 ghz) to the xbox ones 1.75 ghz. not a huge difference but the xbox one is capable of offloading processes from the cpu. This free's up the xbox cpu more with the added bonus of the (slightly) higher clock speed.
DirectX 12 will basically make all of this really efficient which will free up the cpu even more with less instruction. This is why I keep saying that you can&...
i agree but there are some things that bug me that seem like a bigger deal. the controller battery and LED are really kind of annoying to me. My ps4 also gets kinda noisy after playing a while. The non-customizable thing isn't a huge deal but like on the x1 you can pin games, apps, even shows to your home screen and its super handy.
I also kind of wish it multitasked more like the x1. the x1 is super fast at app switching, runs a realtime preview of the current app ...
yup. ive been hearing it a lot with infamous.
Hmmm after reading this I'm a little disappointed. I feel like this is going to be a shinier, bigger version of something closer to grid and not more like gran turismo or forza. The things I like about those titles are how realistic the physics are to real driving and how accurate the tracks are to real life. Guess I will just have to hold out for project cars to get my sim fix on ps4. Bummer.
