no. not everyone in the world is looking for the "best deal" or whats free. some people like to buy niche things or are enthusiasts of sorts. i think this qualifies as one of those things. you aren't paying for what it does, you're paying for what it is. would i buy it? probably not, but I'm sure there are a few people out there that would. I probably know some.
it is a fantastic rate for sure. the problem is that it means people who want ps4's will at some point in the near future all have ps4s. once those demographics hit saturation, sales will slow down. We've seen the same trend with PC's, smartphones, tablets, HDTVs, the wildly popular Wii when it was launched etc. Nobody is going to go out and continue to buy multiple ps4's, so it will naturally taper.
yes and no. the biggest guns were the console launch itself - especially when you factor in how long it has been between last gen. quick sales of the ps4 have been ridiculously high but that also means that the demographics of people that are buying ps4s will start to hit its saturation point soon. that means sales numbers will certainly slow down and then software sales start to move up in place of. we kind of see hints of this already with quarterly sales ever so slightly dipping from on...
well... i have both consoles and the ps4 does have more titles, but the thing is most of them are small indie titles and thats cool but people like me don't really care about most of these. i can play this kind of stuff on my ipad. i got the consoles cuz i wanted more horsepower but didn't want the expenses, effort and relatively short life cycles of pc.

i agree. my ds4 controller dies almost every other time i play the ps4. the cable they give you to charge it is like 3-4 ft long or something. its annoying. i have to go spend money on a longer cord so i can actually play the thing more than twice.
its not great. its pathetic. the battery on the ds4 sucks and 80 min isn't even close to making it acceptable.
you can get a battery kit for $19 for the x1 controller that pretty much provides 10x the battery life of the ds4 controller, eliminates the need for AAs. AND it comes with a really long cord so its no problem to reach the couch if need to charge. compare that to the cord that the ps4 gives you out of the box, which is pretty much useless so you have to spend the same amount of money if you want to actually play while you charge - and charging you will be doing often.

the battery life on ds4 sucks, almost to a frustrating level... even after this update dimming the light down, i still ended up having to charge the thing shortly after. its my biggest gripe out of a very short list of gripes to an otherwise excellent machine.
for comparison, i think i've charged my xbox one controller 1-2x a month. my ds4 gets charged probably 1-2x a week (or more on occasion). the xbox one controller has 2 extra motors in it as well that the ds4 doe...
its the usual suspects that take this as absolute BS as well... namely people who coincidentally have ps4's or develop for them exclusively. don't be ridiculous. at worst, this will result in a modest boost, at best it will significantly boost performance. either way its a win. either way if you have no interest in the xbox one you shouldn't really care. it doesn't invalidate your own personal preferences.
i work with some pretty big name studios/devs (especially this time of year while they prep for e3) first hand and we all shoot the shit. they are pretty convinced this is going to be a nice boost on the x1. i think i would trust them/

oh come on... any game will have a tweaky situation here and there. gt5 certainly did.... second son certainly does (not that its a racing game). in general... forza5 has alway reviewed pretty high and has been very consistent. it won me over from gran tursimo a few versions ago (even tho i still like gran truismo)

because as fans of more sim based titles we are disappointed. this game isn't even using full blown physics and they chose really high end visuals over running like a proper sim... when there isn't any good racing game on the ps4 at present, he has every right to be annoyed. i am too.
i agree. i was also bummed out to learn this isn't going to be fully sim'd out. in forza 5 the physics are fantastic and running at 60 fps means the physics are updating twice as fast... this game isn't even going to have proper physics... looking good is great, but with the lack of gt6 or equivalent on ps4, its a let down.
i see your point but its not entirely an apples to apples comparison... yes the title is the same across all platforms, but consoles are more of a general, bit more casual, more affordable class of entertainment electronics not unlike a stereo receiver or bluray player whereas PCs are more of a proper computer, usually highly customized or configured and very expensive. it doesn't always make sense to compare consoles to PCs because of course a $3-4k computer is always going to look bett...
well... the more i learn about driveclub the more disappointed i get so hopefully this will scratch my ps4 car racing sim itch.
meh... i feel like the games on ps+ are xbl gold are good and all but also seem like old or small titles. the whole reason i got the x1 and the ps4 wasn't so i could play last gen level stuff. maybe my view is a little misguided, but i never get the ps+ titles on the ps4 and i certainly don't miss xbl games with gold on the x1.
