Yep just trying to analyze what their thinking might be on the issue. It's obviously a money issue as anything like this always comes down to money.
All I can foresee is that their sales forecast for Legends didn't meet the criteria they needed to make a profit (pre-orders, zombiu etc). So they see it as hitting two birds with one stone. By September the install base will be bigger and they can also target the other platforms where it will obviously sell more on.
Most likely to do with the marketing budget. If they release now and again later on they will have to spend twice on marketing. As well as lose out because no one would buy a full price Rayman Legends for PS3/360 when the Wii u version would prob be costing $15-$20 by that time.
Releasing them all at the same time means they can sell them all at the same price point, as well as save on marketing.
Get paid millions by THQ to develop it. THQ go bankrupt and you buy that work for half a million. Yep that's a steal :)
And still has games releasing for it till this day...

Publishers want to WIN on every title they release. That means they want to profit on every game they make. Doesn't sound unreasonable right? Well the whole point of making a product, spending time and investing money is known as RISK.

Great to hear if you aren't a Wii U owner. Origins was a fantastic game and if I was going to purchase a Wii U this year this game would of been one of the games i picked up.

Digital items have no inherit value, because they can be produced infinitely. So it has no resale value.

They don't have a resale value, that's the problem. They are either free (downloaded from piratebay or your favourite torrent site) or at the price the original content holder ransoms it for not to be attained 'illegally'.
You aren't paying for the product, but the service of acquiring that product hassle free. Digital goods are of infinite supply i.e. duplicated endlessly thus there is no 'second hand' market where its true value can be attained. ...
