Like any economic downturn, people invest in home entertainment...and after seeing how good Blu--ray looks on an HDTV, it's hard to go back to DVD.
Feb. 17th can't get here quick enough!
Great game, glad we finally got another one to release here in the States.
I thought GTA IV was rumored to have cost roughly $100 million between the 360 and PS3 version. Granted, Rockstar laid a lot of foundation work with GTA IV which should make their next game easier to develop, but i still see GTA IV or whatever it's called to cost between $50-$75 + marketing. Games these size take a while to create, which is where a lot of the money goes to (especially if you have upwards of 300+ staff).
I surprisingly think the DLC will sell well over time. Castle Crashers sold over a million i believe and it cost 1200 MS points ($15) and it only took a few hours to beat. The GTA IV DLC is adding roughly 12+ hours of story to play through...so i could see this selling well, over a million, but perhaps not quite the 2.5 that MS needs for it to break even. And that's assuming MS gets 100% of the profits from the DLC, which i don't think it is...
I really hope they include this DLC with the US version, if not on the UMD, then available for download...
I was just prompted for an update...took 2 minutes to install, so i dare say there WAS an update. Dashboard revision is now 2.0.7363.0.
And yet again N.A. doesn't get the Steelbook. I'll pass. I see no point in buying an LE these days if it isn't in a Steelbook.
I have 327 games and counting indexed so far...including game performance ratings for 50+ games.

Overall, the silence alone is worth installing games, not to mention many of them show at least *some* improvement in terms of load times.
Generally, most games improve load times, but the silence is just as important to me. It's nice not having to drown out the 360's DVD drive while playing.
Just glad people are finding the list useful.
Halo 3's load times when installed to the HDD are horrible. Based on multiple sites and my own installing it takes on average 10 seconds longer to load things than running off the DVD.
@Cajun Chicken
I just completed Mass Effect and it is by far one of the best games, both story and gameplay wise, that i've ever played. I went in with an open mind and was blown away. It's more of a shooter with some great RPG elements combined into one powerhouse of a game. Highly recommended.
DMC4 loads rather fast off the DVD as it is, but i'll install it a bit later (unless someone beats me to it). I'm hoping people have some of the older sports games and wouldn't mind posting the install sizes. 05, 06, 07, and some 08 games are missing still.
What kind of HDD do you have, 20, 60, or 120? I'll ask the same of Dr. Pizza (i believe that's who posted it was green) and see what he says. Also, do you have the Platinum Hits version or Original? Please PM me these details if possible :)
Technically EVERY game installed could be considered an improvement because there is no disc spinning, thus less noise and more importantly, less wear on your DVD drive. As for load times, most games see at least a little improvement in load times and/or performance.
Every little bit helps, thanks! If possible, post actual times, it for no other reason than evidence for others to confirm/deny.
Considering the number of little kids, the trash-talking (by said little kids as well), pricing for just about every little thing available on XBL...nothing really casual about that aside from the newly introduced Avatars.
I'd like to encourage everyone to contribute to this list if possible, whether via PM here or by posting in the thread on CAG. While i doubt we can get EVERY game, i'd like to try at the very least.
From what i've read, only a small percentage of PS3 owners actually use their console for Blu-ray movie playback. Perhaps Sony should include a Blu-ray movie with every PS3 this holiday season...it'd be a small additional cost but could definitely spur more sales if people get a chance to see the difference at home versus in Best Buy or some other place where they amplify the signals.
