Hardcore market is doing good, most of the casuals have left however so even though PS4/Xbone are ahead of Ps3/360 they still don't factor the Wii which gets REALLY crazy this year, where as adding wiiu to Ps4/xb1, last gen would still be ahead.
Nothing for doom and gloom, but just the facts. If anything AAA development and rising development cost (and the amount of time it takes to spit them out) is what would raise the cause for concern this gen or next gen more than m...
Those are the areas I'm talking about. Personally I think Japan is a sinking ship (for home consoles), has been since the start of this gen and showed signs in the later half of last gen, so unless you already have multitude of studios making games (or made games in the past) that appeal to them (nintendo, sony), there's no point now trying to start up anything there.
There last chance was 360 to set roots and they barely scratch the surface until dropping off complet...
People clamoring for power...Don't forget power comes at a cost, the more power you put into the machines, the more its cost goes UP. All XB2 needs to do is be able to run games at 1080p, 60fps, BIG games at that performance and they're good power wise. I think $400 is going to become the ceiling for consoles at launch, anymore than that and your asking for less sales, which means these companies need to make machines where they can put as much and lose as little as possible within a ...
Exactly, and the profit they do make is SO small that it cancels all this articles good will out. So what if you make pennies off selling a product (aka, profit), the fact is, this product is hurting the entire image of Nintendo and what it is capable. It's hurting the DEVELOPERS since they're projected sales for the games they pour their hearts into will only ever receive so many buyers because of the limited install base.
Also, they can be making WAY MORE PROFIT. Ma...
Exactly. We'll know if it's worth buying when it's revealed (and then some), all this predicting off nothing is as bad as just making up stuff because your bored. There's too much complexity in "what if"'s for NX and Nintendo as a whole that there's no point trying to figure anything out because you'll never come remotely close.
Keep more quirky titles coming, diversify your library and setup developers/franchises for the future, that will make your systems more attractive. The "it's a marathon, not a sprint" quote should be applied to setting up studios to bolster your portfolio.
Also, robots are cool, keep em coming :)
Eh, that would only apply to software and it's not like the order or the top 10 would change much because of digital, COD will still be number 1, the rest doesn't matter too much since I imagine the top 5 to stay about the same. Unless people want to see digital games like Rocket League in top 10 one day...Minecraft could shoot above a spot or 2 I imagine.
Also there have been analyst that can vaguely paint a picture of digital sales. We know digital accounts for roug...
Well kids don't care about graphics :l
Also it has a handful of elements that are better than pokemon's archaic systems. Exploration is by far superior, with plenty of other quest type things to do aside following the same plotline each game like pokemon does (become champion, defeat evil organizations abusing legendary pokemon's power), and the combat, while not exactly better, is more interactive at the least.
I'd say don't knock it til...
Eh I mean are the other big moba games p2w? If not I see no reason for this to be, especially if the game cost money to begin with. They'll make fine money off of skins, it's not like PC is the only place people are willing to play for cosmetics/QoL add-ons.
For those with narrow taste I'd say there's plenty to enjoy on either platform (and there's a lot of people who only get so many games a year).
But PS4 for me just has so much coming that it's easily going to have the best year in my case. SO many games, way more jrpg's to boot!
Stealth damage control for Oculus Pricing.
We won't know PSVR's price until they announce it (or is leaked), just like how we didn't know Oculus pricing and assumed it was in ~400 range yet was 50% more than what most of us expected. Sony can also do an -unbundled set that includes just the helmet and game for those of us with the camera already, lowering cost (just like people with oculus pc capable sets are good to go unlike people that need to make upgrades and...
I mean, haven't they been doing that already? They're the first ones to really get out the gate and into peoples minds for quite a couple years before PSVR or Vive were announced/unveiled. They sold devkits to non-developers, more people got to experience Rift in some way than any other headset.
However I'd say in a few months PSVR will "lead" VR considering it will be in more mindsets than any of the other headsets because Sony will advertise the crap ...
Politics or world problems need to stay the hell away from video games.
I think AT THE VERY LEAST of what we can take away from this, is that Sony will have supported PSVR in some sizeable way from the start, contrary to some believing it to have no/little support and end up like the Move.
Maybe not all the experiences will be fleshed out games or great titles, but at least there will be more out their to try out and see what grabs your attention (again, unlike the move). The only game I can literally remember the move having is the bundled spor...
Another hole in the "PSVR runs on PS4, so the games won't look good" argument is that people HAVE tried out PSVR, and HAVE played games on it and have been left with nothing but positive things to say. So while games may not look as sharp they're clearly good enough to be enjoyed.
yah..I'm sure if articles were made back in xbox vs Ps2 days they would look utter ridiculous, same as they do now. We know the winner.
Making articles on "who will have the better 2016 lineup" is debatable at least (even though it looks to be one sided as well excluding personal taste). "Who will year/gen" articles do not, as xbox will always lose for the foreseeable future. January NPD will really tell if xbox turned anything around or is destined t...
It's a no brainer, your games should get as much audience as possible and being on NX puts a feather in its cap as well considering this game has long been anticipated. win-win for Nintendo.
What's this for exactly?
Couldn't they trademark something unique to make them stand out? Like "let's game" or "game on" or anything else but a generic tossed around buzzword that people use as their youtube/twitch titles to reel viewers in.
2015 - "This year represents the best gaming lineup in xbox history. 2016 will also mark the best line up in xbox history."
Ah, looking back at this gen 2-4 years from now is going to be fun.
Well XB1 was $500 at launch and look what happened, sure it had Kinect but the same reaction would be present (the roars when Ps4 undercut xb1 by $100 showed the response). I'm also baffled about the controller, hardcore is hardcore. But the fact is people will want to play multiplats on the cheapest console that is capable of running them well, just match parity on resolution and any graphical differences between them would be minimal to the mass. Xb1 has mainly struggled shrugging off t...
