In terms of sales they won't beat the PS4, however doesn't mean they can't still make and support a great product and satisfy their current(and some future) players. When console war resets next gen their hard work may pay off and give them a fighting chance for the next onslaught.
But with the way 2016 is looking yah no way of catching up, if at best they will hold ground/pace but not surpass PS4. Least they're not last place.
So long as it doesn't interfere with making games I don't see much of the problem, even from a consumer point of view. Obviously sucks for xbox/Pc only guys but that's the nature when your on top and continue to maintain on top it would make sense to do actions to sustain it as much as possible. Sets out an image that Ps4 is the place to play for 2nd/3rd parties and also makes them more money/sales, aside 1st parties of course.
Even combats PC's graphic/perfor...
Quite frankly not of this "innovative" stuff matters. Fact is, gamers want to play games. So while Nintendo tries to "innovate" making quirky controllers and lackluster systems, there's still no real Starfox, Metroid, Mario Galaxy, pokemon console edition, or new Zelda attempted on WiiU or 3DS despite being 3-4 years on the market. 3rd parties non-existent on home console. 3DS killed off anywhere but japan.
This controller just seems like more of the s...
Virtual buttons is just asking for unresponsive moments while gaming and another failed controller design. It also adds to the cost of the controller no doubt, and the system shouldn't be taking performance hits just so they can package a handheld controller (which not one has asked for) to keep the price of the entire package reasonable(~$400).
The only way this would work is if they made a standard controller for the system and this design is simply an optional componen...
I don't doubt that, but again, you have to start somewhere. Better to get the tech started and have some catalog so when Ps5 releases it can really make the PSVR shine, and it would have enough library built up to warrant a purchase from even non-hardcore and automatically squash potential other VR entries from the other two console publishers.
Also in terms of PSVR vs Oculus, I think Sony has a better chance at getting it to become more popular instead of strictly a hard...
It'll be a slow start but I think the tech is fascinating enough that Sony won't drop it, the same way Oculus won't drop it. Developers seem much more interested in making games for it as well unlike some other past tech/systems (vita, move, Eye, kinect).
In fact when PSVR comes out and it gains some kind of hype/appeal/traction other developers/publishers/companie s will jump into the VR space as no one has really promoted VR on a big scale. If 3D got support des...
The whole no games meme will finally be put to rest next year. Like imagine how much Ps4 will sell WITH that many games ON TOP of multiplat games, AND VR compared to this year...
Might hit wii levels in its prime (2007-2009) in terms of sheer number sold in a year WW. Like people don't realize the steam train coming next year, Microsoft's games games games pitch isn't going to stop it nor is NX.
Would they have the code to begin with though? Your talking about a PS2 game with a team and creator who all but scattered across the industry or left completely. Bluepoint would be the only ones I'd trust making a remaster but they haven't made a Ps2>Ps4 remastered game yet, only Ps2>Ps3.
Maybe? I don't know, it doesn't particularly interest me concept wise. My vision of a great PSVR game is a small world you can get lost into or something along the lines of Wii Resort full of fun mini-games (that would launch with PSVR as a pack in deal) that can be played with multiple people, and enjoyed by anyone.
Rigs seems a bit too fast paced, perhaps a great game, but it's just a 1st person mech shooter suited for a hardcore gamer that would probably do wel...
I'm sure the tech is great, I'm just waiting for a great, massive appealing game to be shown with it to warrant its no doubt high cost. VR's going to need a trump card, a poster boy game to "really" sell it to gamers (or even the casuals) and I've yet to see it. All the fun smaller games do look neat though (zombie taxicab, 100ft robot, kitchen) and can't wait to try them.
But if VR is treated and priced as a unique and separate system, then it w...
Sorry but they're putting in the same effort as Microsoft in AAA. Except they have way more indies coming out and ACTUALLY put spotlight on them (which indies need to not destroy teams with passion to make games), and they have VR which is a revolution in the making.
I'm sure the underlining meaning of making a Socom game is just that it won't sell well nor warrant the mammoth effort into production it would take. Final hour was being made but got scrapped. They probably don't have any of the original devs that made the great socom games in the past under their belt. YOU CAN'T just expect a publisher to build up a team, invest in a game FROM SCRATCH, expect to make it great, and sell even remotely well to make money back. Same goes for a &...
Well honestly consoles lacked a CS:Go type of game, where your coordinating and talking amongst the team and such and planning to win(at least that's how I think it goes down). Same with moba's.
Nowadays most console shooters are fairly solo in terms of teamwork, you go after objectives with your own mindset rather then talking with the team to win the game. Part of the reason I stay in TDM in CBO3 as I too have that lonewolf mentally, which is why I opted out of Sieg...
I'd wait until we get further information or something to solidly grasp how big a "multi-part" series is going to be and cost per game before claiming whether its a "good" or "bad" thing. For all we know, it could be some 6-10 hours per game with each costing $60 (which would be terrible_. Or it could be 12-15 hours long but cost $30-40, which would be alright, if even great. You may say why not put it all on one but the point for doing multi-parts, I ASSUME,...
Square Enix, no matter what they do or hype, always manage to screw things up.
I think people forgot what this company became this/last gen after being fooled by the sexy graphics and eagerness to see/play FFXIV and now VII.
The games were good/okay, but the demo with them showing it off wasn't. People will understand it's hard to demonstration, the problem was the game/demo thing they decided to try to show it off with was utter trash. No charm, doesn't look fun, nothing relatable or something people would recognize.
Who was that appealing to? VR can't be some hogpog of random games and expect to be successful, find an audience to aim at for the majority of the content and aim th...
I got an invite, but every time I'd look for a match it would say lobby full, so there goes that opportunity :/
From what I seen, I didn't miss much.
There going to absolutely need to put this in as many bestbuys as they can if they want to sell and promote this thing right. People need to experience it, and what better way then for free at a local bestbuy.
I'd go as far as to say even in big malls, with a special kiosk dedicated to it. Pay a dollar and play a game for 15-30 minutes or something along those lines. Virtual tours, cinematics, mini-games, etc anything to promote it to the masses. Hardcore will follow the ...
Deep Down in the trash bin of games that simply had a short neat idea but couldn't flush out the game and fill it with substance enough to make it exciting or good.
I think it's dead, and was merely something to test on a new and shiny engine. Let's hope they use it fo Dogma 2 if the PC version of DD does good as well as online does good. with Miyazaki admitting DkS3 might be the last, they certainly can fill the western styled dark fantasy void with DD2.
Yah and I'm sure everyone also remembers the extremely bad sales and perception of the system at launch. Nintendo did right by bringing the games in full force to allow it to achieve nice sales, however saying it outsold Ps4+XOne(With the only other handheld being Vita which...well...) yet was released 2+ years before they came out is both funny and sad. I suppose Nintendo has to say something good about their current situations.
PS4+XOne will well surpass 3DS in a same t...
