yah, the comparison shots for Pro and maxed out native 4k tomb raider screens showed little difference (enough to matter for graphic connoisseurs obviously, but not some "blow out the water" bullshit). Scorpio is not on par with the power the maxed out pc was doing, so scorpio would be somewhere within the range of Pro and a solid power house card/rig, which is to say, will offer subtle differences if even the pc didn't do so much other than be more crisper/sharper due to being ...
I mean, we could also argue they should have made it 5.5 tf for the same price, but the same thing applies, it cost Sony more money. They are not going to include something and take a loss, nor would they ever price it at "$415", companies just don't do that, and I would rather not be charged an extra $50 for something I (a.) either will never use, or (b.) would ever hardly use. They are in a dominate position, they have no need to eat a loss on Pro, and I'm sure they've...
I don't get you guys, where is gtx 970 consistently lower than 200? quick amazon search pops up most are over $300. No, you need to stop saying "just buy used", when the same can be said for Pro if someone bought it used it would be around $300. Same thing if it went on sale. Sure its obviously smarter to buy deals or whatever, but you're not comparing 1:1 at that point. For whatever you can build with PC for $400 when Pro releases, using BRAND NEW PARTS, I can bet the diffe...
Yup, which is exactly what these consoles were chalked up to be, more powerful for players who want a more premium gaming experience. Scorpio will be much the same, stronger for sure, but will still be the same xb1 games, just prettier/stable.
Sony recommends getting two jobs :( #Feelspoorman
Try looking up 4k max pc vs ps4 pro tomb raider, they have a comparison of 4k screenshot in-game. Pro looks a little blurry, not as crisp, but still looks damn good overall, especially given its price.
I'd say people just need to wait, console isn't out until november, it JUST got revealed yesterday, I'm sure we'll get much more in depth comparisons and news as we approach release.
You're exactly who they are targeting. It's weird people saying "what's the point of this console", it's quite literally a (relatively) cheap option that can run games better and make them look good in 4k/hdr displays, all while still providing a sizeable benefit for 1080p owners with enhanced graphics/fps. All before the holidays of THIS YEAR.
People expecting the console to render all games natively at 4k, yet still cost $399, are delusional. But...
I mean spec wise it should be obvious, but at the cost of power it comes out a FULL YEAR later than Pro. This somewhat reminds me of 360 vs PS3 launch, Ps3 aiming to be "premium with lots of power", yet did terribly due to price tag (partly because of blu ray, but scorpio will also include 4k bluray drive, which DOES raise cost), came out a year later, and in the end the power wasn't too much of a game breaker since the differences weren't that far apart (difference in gpu o...
Nice, someone who gets it. Scorpio will be held back by the xb1, same predicament Pro is with Ps4. Perhaps that's a more worthwhile upgrade/jump from xb1>scorpio than Ps4>Pro? Sure. But again, if you're just getting prettier games at higher resolutions (same games that can be played mostly fine on your current hardware), what's the big deal? I think people are thinking the Scorpio come in at $399 and are the same ones making these statements, when in reality its probably lau...
b-bu-but but...4k blu ray drive dude. DUDE. 4K BLU RAY DRIVE!!! IT's what we've been wanting all along!
/s
Power is only part of the equation, just look at the overreactions of Pro not having a bd drive compared to one s, with people "threatening" to get one s instead, despite Pro being vastly more powerful then the one s. Perceived value, PRICE, and games matter equally, if not more than raw power. Also time is not in Micro's hands, it's in Sony's (amongst everything else pretty much). and by that I mean they get a year head start.
But good luck with Scorp...
Yooo, Horizon! If anything is Pro's killer app (thus far), it's horizon. Thing looks gorgeous, and it's a game to come, not something simply patched that you've already played on your og ps4.
I'm sure at LEAST 1 or 2 new games will be announced/showed off, just to make the event have a bigger impact than "here's hardware, here's some old games that run better, please be excited". Certainly more tech demo's never before seen similar to PS4 reveal, which had quite a few.
I can get behind that thinking/expectation, but since we're specifically talking about the event, they really need to sell the neo, and that includes making comparisons on how much it improves x games over the PS4, it's a premium product, it's supposed to look/play better. They NEED to sell people on the Neo. Slim will sell itself, if it's as cheap as I mentioned.
$250 Slim would really surprised me, because that would be much more significant than neo would ever be as far as impact for sales go.
Them showing a demo/trailer of Crash remaster collection (running on Neo) would also be an awesome curtain closing surprise, though they may save that for PSX if they are still doing that event. Neo will be just an upgraded console, don't expect it to be insane nor too weak, 4.2 tf is plenty an upgrade over ps4, also don't expect a p...
Hope so. So far Rift and Vive seemed to not have done much at all, like I predicted, in getting the mainstream's attention or "blowing up". Though it's still early, and I'm sure those units will become more popular in the next 2 years, but yah, PSVR breaking the ice more than they did would be nice, but from a consumer stand point(more players) and a developer stand point(more games)
I agree, but that's not limited to Sony at all nor should it be directed at them. Microsoft, and Nintendo are are culprits as well, announcing games way before hand, some get delayed, it's reality. Same goes for other publishers. Sony's probably "targeted" because they're announcing far more games than either competitor I guess.
Though imagine if these games didn't get announced "early", we'll be left scratching our heads on wtf i...
You must have literally not played any japanese game, where, on touch screens, allow you to rub the screen and have the exact same reactions for girls (probably even men), especially girls which look underage. 2D art, 3D, both. Not exclusive to being in japanese only, I've played android games with full english text that has the exact same thing. Attack on moe for example, which gradually strips clothes of girls by reaching a certain threshold of rubbing them, and they have "negative...
One company gets away with it, other company follows suit. PC there's too many variables to take that risk (as it was a gamble from Micro, and only really paid off because of how Sony failed with PS3), though I can bet Steam could get away with it as well. Hopefully they don't for a long while. But if "consoles go bye bye", I can see PC adapting these types of "tactics" as well since they are the only "viable" hardcore gaming system then (and have nothing...
Should do better, but I think it has more to do with Persona 5 than a $50 price drop. Among some other japanese appealing games coming this holiday. Certainly sales will be sky rocketing compared to the last couple weeks, where one week they sold less than 2k because of becoming out of stock to get rid of inventory, according to media create sales/famitsu.
