Believe me when I say I really want some sort of announcement regarding PS4 at this event....

Sony didn't have to make their own portable with Vita...and Sony shouldn't make anymore handhelds either...Sony should make their back catalogue available on tablets, smart phones...and yes dare I say it....competing handhelds!

Nintendo had an opportunity to release something truly ground breaking in the follow up to Wii...instead they give us Wii U HD.
Wii U has the most mediocre list of games I ever seen...not one of Wii U's games is a MUST HAVE..all I could live without...merely mid grade titles.
Where's GTA5? Where's Crysis 3? Far Cry 3 even?
They sold Wii U owners a Super Nes Mario game in HD and a slow plodding cumbersome unattractive Zombie game ...
Sadly, Nextbox & PS4 will have released before Wii U really gets up to speed....
And most will agree it's almost certain Wii U's under powered compared to what MS/Sony will put out, so IMO Wii U really should have released Holiday 2011 instead of 2012...that way we'd have seen more games and more of what the Wii U could do by now.
I'm thoroughly disappointed with Nintendo! ...still stuck in the past, they've lost that zeal they had bac...
I welcome all and any competition in the games/console business...we the consumer are the winners for it :)

The Games Industry as we know it would crumble...because a lot of folks would be priced out....and this is why the industry shouldn't completely do away with the used game market either - an amicable/fair solution needs to be found.
I have read/heard much rhetoric about gaming being a luxury that if you cannot afford it, find an affordable hobby.

Agreed PS4 for release Dec 2013...but IMO Sony shouldn't waste too much resources on Vita individually, but should instead market both PS3/Vita cross play functionality to counter the Wii U casual market.
With the PS4 looming and PS3 still relevant...I can't see how Sony can afford what you're suggesting.

I really can't justify paying for all these PS2 games individually when B.C. should have been universal to all PS3's (thanks Sony!) and the fact that Gaikai will host these PS2 games this year as a stream2play delivery.....

Kinect is a big fail in terms of pushing boundaries...almost a novelty (same for PS Move), and it only sold well because MS marketed the hell out of it.
I lost interest when they abandoned that interactive 'Milo' concept (lie) demo MS showed the press to get everyone pumped!!

Except...Games don't sell systems on their own any more. Services and Support are just as important in today's market.
There isn't a single game Nintendo's own studios can make to make me purchase a Wii U, I'm not that fickle any more.
Not to imply the Wii U is not a good product. It's just I can't help thinking it was already outdated before it left the manufacturing plant.
Of course I shall eat my own words if MS...
As attractive as Steam Box Console seems...it's a Niché product.
Never will this particular device go mainstream, and on the contrary..the PS4 and 720 consoles (whatever they get called) have absolutely nothing to worry about.
The only positive thing for me is more competition for MS/Sony..this is a good thing for the consumer as they will all have to up the ante!
However, see yet another article pointlessly attempting to muster conf...
I think Sony has learnt lessons with PS3...No way will MS get such a huge head start (not that it mattered in the end) this time around.
And PSN/PS+ is the best value driven service available on a console to date. I can see PS4 benefiting from that experience day 1.
In the end I believe (from 3rd party games & console spec point of view) there won't be much to choose between PS4/720....
...it'll come down to who has the best exclu...

3DS is extremely low powered compared to Vita, the 3DS price is attractive to consumers everywhere...
Vita is like a high spec PC compared to 3DS, so of course 3DS sold a lot more...
But look at 3DS games...certainly not what I would call prolific and certainly not for the hardcore.
