Wow... I had no idea. This is some fresh news!

And extremely depressing at that. I guess El Shaddai bombed in its home country of Japan?

What are you talking about? Ignition still makes games. El Shaddai releases next month; that was made by their Japanese studio.

Besides, Deadly Premonition wasn't made by Ignition, it was only published by them. Access Games developed the game.

What confuses me about SN Systems (and especially their website) is why they feel a need to present themselves so competitively.

They are wholly-owned by SCEI; if I'm not mistaken, going through SN Systems is the ONLY way to get PlayStation development tools. Why do they act like there's another place to get that equipment from?

I'm guilty: I laughed at "BLOODY-SHIT".

1. Cave Story 3D doesn’t mean anything. The game is too niche. I love that game, but I'm facing reality.

2. Nintendo can’t ”give the PS Vita a weaker launch than their own”. As they are not launching the platform, they are not responsible for its launch strength. Sony is. What Nintendo can do is try to have better software for their own platform.

3. OoT 3D doesn’t mean anything. It’s an old game repackaged. It doesn’t sell hardware where Nintendo needs to...

I honestly hate GameNYUSU for streaming/downloading videos. You guys have the slowest service ever.

OH SHIIIIIIT

Wait, I have a Singapore account. Not a Hong Kong. Damn.

I agree. But if you look at the original post from the NeoGAF source, the author says "Hopefully the HD collections will look as good, if not better."

I mean, I hate to burst his bubble, but it probably won't look like this.

"...for a long time, consoles were these incredible powerhouses. When Sony put out the PlayStation 3, their latest version, they built a special processor just for this thing called the Core."

Probably not a good idea to generate excitement for something like this. PS3 won't be rendering them at 1080p, and won't have 8xMSAA with 16xAF.

This is setting expectations too high.

5366d ago 5 agree10 disagreeView comment

Well of course; all of those are pre-rendered outside of the game engine.

When the grenade explodes in the water, I have to say that wasn't very impressive.

Crysis also had some great water effects. Especially related to swimming under it. Don't know about Crysis 2, though.

I expected this.

Yeah, if the 24" model sells well (it definitely will) we might see others.

But the thing about this 3D display is that it's actually a PC monitor, not a TV. That's how they keep the price so low. How will they manage that with a 42" version?

@ You Noob

wow, didn't figure that out. Thanks... shows how much I know about the physics behind this.

But maybe everything will balance out since this model will generate less heat to begin with.

Same stuff, just more cost-cutting.

Also it consumes less energy and is much more quiet.

Wow... really cutting on the manufacturing costs I see. Even the PS logo has been reduced to a printed symbol, instead of a tactile plastic one.

Looks like this model will be much quieter than existing slims, since the 120mm fan has been replaced by an 80mm fan.

Curious about the removal of LEDs, though. It's not like those are expensive.

Very exciting, if it's true.

But what motivated the switch from Wii to PS3?

5368d ago 7 agree1 disagreeView comment

Sorry, I should've been more specific.

I'm strictly referring to SCE's PS Vita.

Sony Electronics has a good foothold with their tablet devices and the Xperia Play. Those aren't primarily made for videogames; gaming is just another emphasized feature among many others.

However, Sony Computer Entertainment's PS Vita is designed specifically for gaming, and I feel that the 'dedicated gaming handheld' market is being m...

I'm certain PS Vita will sell respectably, but Kaz Hirai has outlined hopes that it will eventually not only match PSP's install base, but go beyond it as well.

I think they integrated the right hardware for achieving that, and the first wave of games is alright. I'm definitely buying one, but I can't speak for the masses. I feel that the entire dedicated gaming handheld market may be facing a decline.

However, I'd love to be wrong about a...
