Why is Iwata even still in charge at Nintendo? He's bungled so many products over the last decade or so, can't believe they keep him at the helm. And Nintendo continues to lose money every year, thanks to his poor decisions on products. Unbelievable.
Other than the cheap hardware, lacking features, bad gimmicks, and lack of games? Add those in and you got it right.
Why do you always use the phrase "a man" when talking about yourself? Just curious, it sounds strange.
Wii U is dying bro, Nintendo cut way too many corners on the design, just to accommodate the gamepad gimmick. Sales have been terrible of the console, with tiny bumps when that rare first-party title comes out (3-4 a year).
The Wii fad died years ago, but Nintendo thought they could use the same cheap techniques to succeed again with the Wii U (cheap, feature-lacking hardware with a gimmick thrown in). Sadly, it failed completely.
It's a shame they di...
No games are going to "save" the Wii U; Nintendo bungled the design of the system so badly, there's no way to fix it. So many missing or gimped features, just to accommodate the gamepad gimmick. What a shame.
Number one feature of Nintendo's next console: NO GIMMICKS! Every console since the GC has had stupid gimmicks that hobbled the system, all because Nintendo thinks it is actually "innovating" (but really just trying to set themselves apart from the competition).
These gimmicks have ruined this formerly great company; the NES and SNES were some of the greatest consoles ever released, but once the gimmick train began, its all been downhill for Nintendo, and it...
What a shame that B2 will sell like dirt, just like all the other 3rd party games on Wii U. Well, it was Nintendo's money that funded it, so its their loss . . . Platinum just won't make any money on it, they'll break even at best.
^^ This. It's fine for the author to express his disgust with the disturbing content of this game (I'm a bit uneasy about it myself), but it really has nothing to do with Gamergate or misogyny in games. That part should have been entirely left out of the article.
I just bought Minecraft for the PS4 today, will buy the Vita version when it hits retail next month. No reason to avoid a great game just because Microsoft bought the developer, actually it's great that it still came out for PlayStation platforms even after the "deal".
Now if there is a Minecraft 2, I expect it to be limited to Microsoft platforms only, which sucks, but that's life.
Quite honestly, if you can't afford a memory card for the Vita, you can't afford the Vita itself. I mean the memory card prices are really no big deal, I got a 64gb card from superufo for $85 shipped, has 120 games on it with still about 12gb free. Well worth the price.
I'd suggest you get the far inferior 3DS, it's cheaper and takes standard SD cards, which are much cheaper too. But, you get what you pay for, as the old saying goes. And as a plus, you get...
Another forced gimmick in Nintendo games, when just using a standard controller and regular TV screen would have been better. Why does Nintendo feel the need to force these silly gimmicks on gamers? They really need to fire all top-level staff (starting with Iwata) and go back to the drawing board for all their gaming hardware.
Nintendo USED to be the best, the NES and SNES were both fantastic consoles (I still own both, with hundreds of games for them), but for the last de...
@HanCilliers - Yes I read that interview, but it doesn't mean that MS is dropping the parity clause at all; it just means that they might make an exception here and there. It's still a ridiculous, anti-consumer policy that, in the end, hurts MS and its gaming customers more than it helps them. They need to just drop the clause, it's a joke.
The next gen consoles (PS4 and XB1) are still very early in their lifespans, so its fine to not have a ton of AAA titles out there yet. Of the list you put above, I have no interest in any of them, and didn't buy them. However, there are still many solid games for PS4, out now or coming soon. I'm quite happy with the system and looking forward to it's bright future.
On the other hand, Wii U is just getting a very slow drip of games, most being rehashes of Ninte...
Nicely stated, reasonable post. I slightly preferred the 360 last gen (but still love the PS3), but I've been very disappointed with the direction MS took this gen. Their E3 "reveal" prior to the launch was a complete disaster, and their decision to force the Kinect on everyone, in the XB1 bundle, was an enormous bungle. I don't care for gimmicky motion controls, they wouldn't even work for my setup at all. Had they just focused on a solid, higher-spec console, made ...
What most people think of Nintendo's Fall lineup: meh.
This is yet another reason why I've gone with only a PS4 this generation, despite being a huge fan of both previous MS consoles. I really believe that MS has lost its way, and no longer understands what gamers want (the forced Kinect gimmuck was an enormous mistake, clearly). The parity clause is a really offensive policy, which in the end is only going to hurt Microsoft and its fans, and continue to drive people away from buying an XB1. Very sad!
That's why I didn't even bother clicking on it. It's obviously a clickbait review.
More proof that the Wii U is really just a last-gen console. The system can't even match many multiplats that came out on PS3 and 360, despite having the extra RAM (no doubt the weak CPU plays a big part in that). Nintendo really cut far too many corners on the Wii U console, just to accommodate the expensive gamepad gimmick, and they're now paying the price for that in poor sales and financial losses every year. What a shame.
You obviously don't appreciate good gaming hardware and games. Find another hobby maybe?
It's a shame that the 2DS is such a cheaply-made, ugly, low-spec product though. Really, it's only fit for pre-teen kids, where the parents realize that the fake 3D effect on the regular one would ruin their eyes. Other than that, it's hard to believe any adult would ever buy one, for themselves.
