Take 2 has a great name. People respect it and they have done well for themselves as a company, recieving acclaim for their public relations and commercial successes.
At this rate, EA will own everything.
I have my PS3 connected but online gaming has never been my thing. I just enjoy campaign or story modes in games. I don't mind the odd game of Resistance or Warhawk online but it's not the reason I buy games.

You can't honestly be suggesting that Sony is the cheap-skate company releasing sub-standard consoles? The 360 lacks any sort of hi-def media support. The machine is designed so that you pay for EVERYTHING. And EVERYTHING makes money for M$.
Corporations are there to make money, but this tactic is alienating gamers who can't understand M$'s tactics. A £50 price-drop? Why not just make Live free?

Motorstorm offers some of the most amazing visuals of any next-gen game. A breath of fresh air for racing games.
BUT IT LACKS SPLIT-SCREEN MODES! I wanted to play it so badly with my cheap-ass mates who all still have 360s!
But I'm still psyched about this sequel.
I love it. I know I gave it a really high score but I feel it's justified as it's so much fun.
@toughNAME, I feel the game is best as a two-player. It's too fiddly messing around, ordering the AI to flank you etc. But as you can play online or split-screen co-op there's really no excuse.

I feel really sorry for all X-box 360 owners, fanboys and gamers alike.
Like HeyHeyHey said, IF this is representative of the whole install base then this is truly a shocking revelation. Everyone I know who has a 360 (10 folk or so) has had it fail on them. That's my personal observation.
And yeah, as consumers it's important to recognise that M$ and their loyal fanbase have a big, big problem.
I don't doubt GTA4 will rock. DLC for either console is stupid. They shoulda just put it on the disc. Oh, wait, I forgot they had to cram the game onto a 4.7gb disc because of the 360. And then Microsoft have the cheek to capitalise on gamers paying extra for additional content.
It's just sad. What happened to games being finished? GTA4 certainly took long enough.
The store works well already but this should allow us to browse in an easier, more organised fashion hopefully.
I'd still prefer it if you could access other features, such as music or internet whilst browsing the store. That would be nice.
You can already get 500GB 2.5 SATA Hard-Drives for PS3s and notebooks already. So how is this going to change conventional media storage for owners for laptops and playstations?
I'm about to buy a 500GB SATA so I wanna know if I should hold off.
Saints Row had some nice touches but just copied GTA San Andreas. Right down to the black cult hero guest star.
Saints Row 2 (or II) will probably be set on 'Liberty Island' where you play a young Russian thug called Boris who climbs his way from the streets through stealing and street violence.

I agree with a lot of what you've said.
I kinda have a love/hate thing with the linear/no online aspects of the game. Part of me feels it works perfectly well without it, part of me feels that the greatest games of this generation will have sandbox/advanced online features.
But still, great game, great review. Bubbles.

The most disappointing thing is the lack of 4-player split screen or even 2-player split-screen.
But I too would give it a solid 9 as well. Simply because of all the amazing mods and maps you can download straight to your PS3.

I really wish they had been more subtle with it, like Shadow of the Colossus or Motorstorm. It just never really deserved such ridiculously crap scores!
I think it's a good game for a brief adventure or if dragon shooters just happen to be your bag.

My real justification in my score for the game is the Fun Factor as mentioned above. Multiplayer split-screen with the lads is just brilliant. As is the ranked single player online deathmatches.

I've read plenty of reviews already and it seems pretty badass. I'd really hate to be let down by EA again.
But I'll give ya a game bro. If it's any good...
It's been kicking out fantastic games for people like me who get bored at work or whenever I'm out the house! I'm glad Sony have relased new mulimiedia unctions and God Of War is out.
But the PSP is superior to the ipod in all but size. It's potential is huge and is a worthy tool for the gamer on the move.
It's all about faith.
I have faith that EA will perform better with their software and dodgy ports.
A new console by EA (or M$, Sony or Nintendo)would just confuse gamers and prove to investors that the industry is financially volatile!
