I bought it on release and haven't played more than an hour, though what I did play was above average. Bloodborne has me by the balls right now unfortunately.

Completely agree. Two of the finest games from last generation, however, I would add Dark Souls as well. I would love to replay that at 1080/60fps in addition to Demon's Souls.

Agreed. Bloodborne is amazingly addictive due to its awesome coop, pvp, chalice dungeons and NG+++++++
I agree, the game was absolutely dripping with detail and the gunplay was awesome. Loved shooting the Thermite Rifle and the Falchion. I really hope a sequel is in the works. Just make the campaign coop and add MP and keep the same quality SP and they have gold.

When you consider the competition, Bloodborne is a no-brainer for GOTY. Another Dark Fantasy RPG(Witcher 3) and another post apocalyptic open world game (Fallout 4) can't compare to a totally unique Victorian/Gothic Horror monster hunting/Van Helsing type game that is Bloodborne in my opinion. Say what you will, but I think the game does an amazing job of creating a sense of being part of a large war. The visuals and sounds are amazing, the gameplay is smooth as butter on PS4 and it's easy to find games and get in them fast. Also, the game is pretty fun overall. I enjoy it more than Black Ops 3 MP as it's becoming so stale.
Agreed. Games like Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2 & Max Payne 3 are perfect examples of balancing gameplay with cut scenes. And most of the time they can be skipped if you don't like watching. And as for the writer of this article, he/she should be playing Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne. All brutal gameplay and very subtle storytelling.

You're lucky to be playing on PC. I can confirm the XBone version has screen tearing, plenty of jaggies and input lag. Aiming is terrible compared to PS4 definitive version of the 2013 game. And yes, I know that ran at a higher framerate but, my god, the Xbone version of this game is technically flawed. Framerate is King. Bethesda games never run super smooth on console. You have to be impressed with a game like Star Wars Battlefront(despite the amount of hate it gets) because it's online running silky smooth on PS4 and looks absolutely stunning.
It was exactly what I was waiting for personally. I knew the price drop was coming which is exactly why I didn't get it at launch.
I too have a child, wife and career and managed to NG+++ Bloodborne by playing it on the weekends for a few hours here and there. Not to mention, if I was every stuck, I could always summon someone who was more than willing to help. Blooborne has the best online community hands down. And the Souls games in general. These games are highly skill based, maybe they just aren't for you, no need to bash them.
And do you see some of the shows that air on BET? Says a lot about the demographic they target.
