No the PS2 didn't help the Wii. The PS2 was responsible for a lot of awful ports to the Wii, and only served to continue the perception that the Wii was only as powerful as a PS2. It wasn't until the ports stopped that the Wii started getting better looking games on the third party side.
I think that this guy is just angry that he was expecting Nintendo to release an hd console in 2009 and they didn't, and so he is still butthurt that he was wrong. Now he thinks Nintendo released a console that was only intended to compete with PS3/360 and so will be overwhelmed, when in fact the Wii U was designed to compete with future consoles. Even though Nintendo doesn't even really compete with anyone besides themselves.
Reading some of these posts, it's clearly evident that fanboy obsessions towards companies truly borders on unwavering religious devotion.
region locking is a gateway to piracy because a lot of gamers might mod their consoles just to play legally purchased international games. Once that step is out of the way, gamers might turn to piracy. That's why I love that PS3 is region free. I've imported games from Japan, Hong Kong, and the UK.
@shadowsteal.
The funny thing is, a lot of the points you made were just ideas that Sony copied from Nintendo, and then just expanded upon. It's really easy to do something better if your competitor releases a product or unveils a product first and you have a year to take that concept and expand on it.
Every other argument you've made is just purely fanboyish, and when you spout nonsense like that, you will only be taken seriously by fellow fanboys. ...
I really hate that argument, because right now, the Wii U install base is a few million higher than xbone/ps4.
I'd take a PC port over other versions; however, that said, a Wii U version wouldn't be too lacking. The Wii U is capable of pretty much everything the xbone/ps4 are cpu/gpu wise. It's only issue is the ram. And the gpu is slower which actually doesn't really matter so much because of the memory built onto the gpu. But it's really not a game breaker, theyd just have to lower the quality slightly, and have more loading times.
Why do people keep making a big deal about the ram? I am quite sure that console gamers have no idea about how important ram is compared to a cpu or gpu. I swear, especially Sony fanboys think that RAM is like some kind of second GPU that makes everything better.
Xenoblade's 400,000 square mile world says hello.
Why did people disagree with what you said? You stated merely facts. PS3 had an awful slow start, Sony was even considering not releasing another console again. But look at the PS3 now! Wow, amazing games, lots of support! No more shoddy ports! And PS4 is ready to kick some butt~
There is only so much a game can change before it is no longer the same genre or can even be considered of the same series. Every call off duty game is the same. I'd that a bad thing? Certainly not. That said, Zelda had changed over the years more than Amy game ever has. If you are expecting more than what had changed them you ate expecting Zelda to cease doing the things that make a Zelda game a Zelda game.
I love how Nintendo has the balls top mix things up every now and then.how many stores go through a complete makeover with practically every major release?
Obviously it will sell. Super Smash bros alone is a system seller for a lot of gamers.
Hopefully they announce FFXV/Kingdom Hearts for PC/Wii U.
And FFXII/Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD collections.
Well with this news, I will now definitely be getting an xbone. However, it's at the back of the line. First up is... new video card, then PS4, then Xbone.
It wasn't packaged with every console in every region though.
You should really think of taking into consideration actual Mario games, and not just Mario themed games, or games with Mario in it. Mario is Nintendo's mascot, so obviously as the face of Nintendo, he will be in almost everything he can possibly be put in.
Wii U is pretty sexy, but I think I still have a soft spot for the Sega Saturn.

Obviously most Tales fans would be on the system with the most Tales games.
I'd rather Link didn't speak, or maybe spoke about as much as Ende in Pandora's Tower, and everything was in a made up language like Shadow of the Colossus.
