I was especially fond of the Twilight Princess map. So much more epic than the Skyward Sword map.
Yeah, as ChickeyCantor suggests, you should sell your current ones. That's what I'm gonna' do.
How is this a dire picture? It's showing off great exclusive titles. Rayman Legends is a Wii U exclusive in Japan, by the way.
Nintendo actually follows the 5-6 year console life cycles so That's probably about when they will release a new console.
Oh Aonuma!
I've heard about doing that. How does that work? If it's not too much effort, I would totally buy a second nvidia card just for taking heat off the main GPU.
I'm so glad I got the club Nintendo exclusive gold nunchuk to complement my gold wii remote!
Since I am both a PC and console gamer, obviously the Wii U is my primary gaming console. Nearly all multiplats are on PC, so when I buy all of those on PC, the Xbone and PS4 doesn't even come close to the Wii U in terms of exclusives. PS4 has it's great exclusives and devs, but it really does pail in comparison to the quality we have come to expect from Nintendo.
The thing is though, Nintendo owns the most popular and profitable IPs in the world, and those IPs will move units. The Wii U is prepping to be just like the 3DS.
It should be noted; however, that developers have frequently spoken highly of Nintendo, and how they make them better developers. And this stuff comes from former Nintendo developers like Rare. Nintendo is a company run by devs, and as such, are the only ones in the big three that understand the development process.
@shinmaster
Well, the difference between a gamer and a fanboy is that a gamer follows the games and the developers. Not the console.
Why are people still on about this? The 2DS is for a very niche audience. The real 3DS is the only unit developers and older gamers alike should be concerned with.
Yeah. Then you might have to pickup a Nintendo console for more exclusive games!
You say this is just the beginning, but since they are using standard x86 PC architecture, this really is the end. Programmers already know all of the x86 processor's tricks. There won't be new tricks picked up on the way. There won't be any hidden caches of power unlocked. Heck, the CPU isn't even powerful enough to effectively cache all of the RAM available.
Pushed Nintendo out of the race? According to this profits data Nintendo still makes more money on average.

Once the Wii U hits it's stride it'll be like the Gamecube era all over again. Not the biggest install base, but substantial profits all around.
Thing is, even when Nintendo is going through the "tough" times(see gamecube era), Nintendo is still a lot more profitable than Microsoft and Sony combined due to the sheer number of units they sell on the software side of things.
It still doesn't change the fact that being X86 architecture, developers should be able to optimise the games right out of the gate. Killzone looks and runs great because of expert use of smoke and mirrors.
I think GDDR5 does what you think it does. By the way, GDDR5 has been standard in GPUs since 2010, but haven't been used for motherboards. I wonder if you know why?
Sorry... but I seriously doubt this claim. If it was true, why is this the first I'm hearing of this? If it did have issues, the engineers would have fixed it before it made it out of r&d.
That's funny, because there are/will be countless Wii U games that won't come out anywhere else.
