Exclusives mean nothing if the games are crap.
Sony pulled it off because their exclusives were very well developed and supported, M$ can't just throw money at studios and expect magic to happen.

TLOU gets a 10 and no one bats an eyelid. But if it gets a 9 everyone loses their minds.

The better the story, the bigger the expectations are for the conclusion.
When you get games that have a great story like the TLOU and Bioshock infinite, you're expecting an epic finale. I don't mind if i get a bleak ending or a happy ending, as long as matches the quality of the story being told.
But maybe there could be too much emphasis on the ending, The end of ME3 wasn't great, but I'm not going to complain. I got 100+ hours of kick ass g...
It may not be for everyone, but it's not meant to be.
I love games like Heavy Rain and L.A Noire, they can be just as tense and nerve wracking as any shooter.
I'm looking forward to B:TS, and Murdered: Soul suspect looks promising as well.
