Lol maybe add the /s next time. just looked like a clueless question to me. I get clueless questions on the daily at work.

Clearly it is not... the PS4 doesn't support it. GT Sport uses a very common technique called SSR (Screen Space Reflections) Basically a low-quality reflection of an object that can only show up as a reflection if it is in the cameras field of view whereas, with Ray Tracing the object doesn't need to be in the cameras FOV to create the reflection of the object.

I believe during the RTX showcase with BF5 they were showing how that works compared to ray tracing. <...

The original reason for game prices going up was due to the cost of making the physical copies which is why people feel that digital versions should be cheaper since there's no real cost to uploading files onto a digital store.

That being said, posts from above make sense explaining that the current physical copies still being made would never get sold if they actually priced the digital versions cheaper based on the cost to put them on a disc. So fingers crossed the p...

If you look at the average cost of a new Ultra 4K BluRay player, they are usually $100 or more depending on the brand and features. That leads me to believe that the digital version could potentially be $100 less than the disc version and if that's the case then I'm most likely going all out on the digital version.

You need to save your money and buy a real entertainment stand instead of worrying what system will fit in a shoe shelf... lol

I wouldn't say you screwed up... The manufacturers just were misleading with HDR back in those years but its still better than no HDR at all. It was really hard to find a proper HDR 4K TV at a decent price. You can get pretty good HDR TV's these days for $800ish I picked up my Sony for $850 on Black Friday at best buy. A good site to do some research on TV's is rtings.com. They analyze everything you can think of in multiple categories to give a good overall review of the TV's...

That's not how this works. How can you compare consumer part picking to a custom-built system? They don't pay for all their parts at consumer cost...

You always could just disable HDR but I understand that defeats the purpose. By any chance, are you forcing a specific HDR signal in the TV settings? If you are, that could also be interfering with what signal the PS4 is trying to use so setting it to automatic on both the PS4 and the TV may also resolve this.

I would recommend upgrading it in the next year or 2. You aren't getting much of a proper HDR picture with that TV. Back in 2016 that was a mid-range model and 90...

I'm sure they will have plenty of color options like with the PS4.

"That's a bold theory cotton, lets see how this plays out."

They just used Clank more as an example since it was easier to focus on Clank during the close-up moments. Digital Foundry has confirmed that there is more ray tracing than just on Clank, but they did notice some objects do not show up in the reflections, which is probably smart to do for performance reasons considering that ray tracing is very demanding.

Youll most likely eat those words. The odds of any game on any console running 4k 120FPS is slim to none. If it would happen, it will not be a game with high graphical quality. Dirt 5 will be 4K 60FPS by default on both the PS5 and XSX with a performance mode allowing 120FPS which will bring that 4K down to 1440P most likely.

Do you by any chance have a link to sony stating they wouldn't ever make another $600 console again? Im not doubting you but I would like to share this information in a group chat I'm in that seems to believe the ps5 will be 600-700 dollars.

You get to play Xbox exclusives since they are all cross-platform with PC now. That's the only thing that makes it worth it on PC. Also Game Pass Ultimate I believe gives you Xbox live gold as well, so if you don't have an Xbox then you should just get the regular game pass.

I think it's just going to be a digital-only version that's $50 cheaper. Considering Sony was able to hide their digital version from being leaked, I think its possible that maybe this leaked less powerful console actually is just their digital-only version.

Pretty sure that the issue is related more to your TV. I had the same issue a couple of years after having the PS4Pro but once I got my new TV last year, I never had the issue again. I went from a Samsung with "HDR" not proper HDR, to a Sony with proper HDR and it looks even better than before too.

I had that issue too after a couple of years. It was my TV. Once I got my new TV to fill in my new house better, I never had the issue anymore. I bet it's your TV for both of your cases.

I'm sorry, but do you always carry your console around when you play it?

Funny thing is the XSX doesn't have a light on top. It's just a green color within the holes on the top. I believe Austin Evans breakdown video of the XSX talks about this. The rendered video when they announced the console just makes it look like its a light to add more flair.
