So I went looking for an answer on the Velocity architecture as well as optimized for XSX/S and the head Xbox engineer even says that Optimized games for XSX can utilize the Velocity architecture. However, it is up to the developer to choose to use it or not. Now we just need clarification from Capcom to confirm which of us is correct.

I NEVER used it on my PS4. No plans to do it again. Why use a slow clunky browser when I can just pull out my phone and find what I need.
Yeah because 6 BC games are any better lol We can bring that number up to 2 since the Witcher loads faster on PS5. Care to link me to where there is confirmation that this isn't using the Velocity architecture? Because on the Xbox store it states that this game is XSX optimized. From what I understand is that any game thats optimized for XSX uses the velocity architecture. The whole point of optimized for XSX is so the game can take full advantage of the XSX hardware which would include v...
"It was obvious that Sony's bc isn't as good"
Yet XB fans still needed to rub it in for some reason saying "so much for that super fast SSD in the PS5 lol" even though it should have been obvious since the BC games don't utilize the SSD architecture
Sure its minuscule but the game still loads in 2 seconds. You know whats more minuscule? The fact that the XSX TFlop advantage does barely anything here worth mentioning.
And the much talked about XSX TFlop advantage only translates to a few fps higher difference. Theres more to it than just loading speeds. You'll see soon enough with future games that are only on next-gen systems just like what WireMucks is saying.
You do get the performance benefits with those games on external. However, if the game has been upgraded to utilize the SSD then it must be on the internal storage.
Yeah, Sony stated they are looking into a solution for this. It might have to do with the way PS5 game files are handled that could cause issue during transfers. 🤷🏻♂️
Was this on PS+? I might have missed that month.
The increased LOD is clearly noticeable look at Miles Hair and the fur on his coat and also his skin. The amount of cars and pedestrians on the screen is much higher as well as draw distances and much improved texture detail. Lighting is a bit different and VFX are better as well.
Clearly it's not going to be black and white in terms of differences for a cross-gen game but the improvements between generations is clearly shown.
If you have a 4K TV you can easily switch to 1440p with a PC. the resolution is supported on those TV's. If the system can fall back to 1080p on a 4k TV, why not 1440p since it will upscale much nicer than 1080p ever would. I get the TV market stuff... but what does that have to do with just having another resolution option to choose from? Default the system to 4K and if someone has a 1440p monitor, the system automatically switched to the supported resolution of the monitor. It's not...
Thats basically what Cerny was explaining back in February.
In some cases yes, but not consistently like you'd expect with its GPU advantage.
It is nice to see that we may not always have to compromise having RT to reach 60 fps depending on the game of course.
Notice how a game that actually utilizes the SSD architecture (unlike BC games) loads faster on PS5?
🤣 Best comment of the day so far!
It's said to be added in a patch. Sony has stated the system does support VRR.
Great start so far for both systems!
Good start so far with both systems!
Especially now with the new help feature for some games, we wont even need to pull out our phones.
