A bit of a letdown after last year's great conference. I hated the focus on 3D, Move, and Vita, to the point where there were only around 5 minutes that had nothing to do with them. And no major announcements apart from Sly 4 and Vita's pricing. Uncharted 3 trailer was great though. I was just hoping for a lot more.
Last year there was something exciting every minute. Here, it was just hoping for some PS3 trailers after the Vita talk. Which never came.
And it'll definitely appear sharper and less jaggie than the original PSP considering the resolution on the NGP is roughly doubled from the PSP, but the screen size has remained the same.
I have no idea what you are talking about. If anything, most of the PC community is great, and not a bunch of 10 year old kids who are yelling "u faggut hurhur ur mom" every time they die.
Play something like Counterstrike, and I guarentee somewhere in there you'll find a server you'll get attatched to and regular it due to the people. 99% of servers in Counterstrike (and most PC games) have a kind of community you really can never really replicate in consol...
"BTW...even on Ultra Spec, the game isn't as technically impressive as some PS3 exclusives...and in the facial animation dept., L.A. Noire kicks it's arse."
Mainly because they are a very small development team who had only around 8 million $$$ to work with from what I heard. The don't have the budget to blow on facial animations. Besides, L.A. Noire kicks EVERY games arse in facial animations.
And graphically, the game is up there with...
I agree, that's like buying Starcraft 2 but never touching the multiplayer. Although the SP in Starcraft 2 is one of the best RTS campaigns, you'd still be missing the entire point without MP.
The atmosphere isn't the same without Yamoaka's music.
Valve used to actually have the best facial animations of it's time at one point, back in 2004-2006. Half-Life 2 and the episodes were always praised for their facial animations. Even in their newer games, what they have is still great for today's standards.
"meh just looked like cleaner sharper version, not enough difference to call one gorgeous and not give that name to the other"
There's a huge difference when you're not just looking at screenshots. and actually playing it. Same could be said for Bulletstorm, Cryisis 2, BF:BC2, and a bunch of others.
Sure, you see a comparison article, it appears PC looks *slightly* better, then you move on. But I've played both versions of many games, an...
This really is a stupid idea. If someone really cares about being up-to-date graphically and is bothered to wait 6 or so years for each console cycle, BUILD A PC. It's defeating the point of the console, and we'll have overpriced branded add-ons from the big three. And without the modding freedom, or the thousands of other everyday and work-related uses for a desktop.
If they want a good multiplayer, they need to get Monolith back from AvP2. AvP2 was AMAZING, and it's multiplayer was too.
It's hard to believe it's actually nearly here... this will be amazing.
Where's the space ship speeds and handling, and exaggerated drifting? And the disco/DnB music? This is not Ridge Racer!!! What is this!?
But TF2 was actually already amaxingly good at launch anyways. The updates just added a lot more variety to the classes and game, with items, weapon properties, crafting and such. Brink isn't.
Yes! Monolith is a great developer (Condemned, No One Lives Forever, Alien vs Predator 2). They haven't done anything for a while. A sequel to any of those would be great.
These guys really should have made the newest AvP. AvP 2 had a great single player, but really shined multiplayer, which was sadly shut down by Activision a long while back. Simple, no unlocks, no ranking. Just a basic class system, and it worked. The staying power was in it's fun.
The Bioshock thing was a v-sync option. Even with it off it wasn't 60fps, but it was much smoother. It gave you the choice of a higher framerate versus zero screen tearing. I couldn't see much tearing even with it off though, and the added framerate was worth it.
Go back to the forums, lol
I really can't stand the way American animation looks...
It has really good graphics too. The jump from seeing the tracks from Pure and Pulse from the PSP recreated in Wipeout HD blew my mind at first. You can take near CG looking photos with the right lighting and angle, and the options they give you.
I still need to get Fury, I don't do much DLC buying (hate what it's turned into), but it looks more than worth the content given. Almost had a Platinum trophy, but stupid YLOD got me before I could get the all Liveries, 50 O...
Speaking of VNs, sometimes I wish there was a Heavy Rain-esque (as in, actual game and not just a VN) Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni... brilliant mystery story.
"Mass Effect 3 with Kinect mean anything?"
I personally wouldn't want to be caught saying lines like that to my TV. The demonstration made me cringe.
"How about Forza with Kinect?"
Breaking and accelerating for you, allowing you to only steer? I see nothing hardcore in that, and it defeats the entire purpose of being a "sim". If you want to "kinect" with the game, get a wheel. It's more than wor...
