And console advancement will slow to a crawl if that happens. Nvidia, AMD, and Intel are the sole reason consoles look the way they do today. PC gamers give those companies a reason to constantly improve hardware. Consoles would probably be looking like PS2s right now.
Whether you like it or not, consoles need PC gaming.
GTA4 happens to quite possibly be one of the most unoptimized ports of all time. And 800$ is more than enough for it, since it's pretty old now. I haven't played it for a while now, but I remember my old SLI GTX 275s and i7 920 running it perfect maxed out, and my current GTX 560ti and i5 2500k setup is FAARRR more powerful. And the GTX 560ti is considered a low-mid-range card (despite being a beast), so go figure.
Besides, the majority of hardcore PC gamers today spe...
As of right now of the games released so far this year, I think The Witcher 2 deserves GOTY. But this year is packed with GOTY material yet to be released.
Judging by the picture, that's what I thought it would be too. Scared me for a moment. The problem is, when most people think visual novels, they think it's all hentai n' pron.
One word (or 5): Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Easily one of the best stories and atmospheres ever created. No hentai, pure amazingness. There are so many others out there, but it's definitely one of my favorites.
I'm not really sure if the author realizes DICE also developed Mirror's Edge. So it kinda makes perfect sense.
"The mods for Unreal Tournament were the best of PC mods, as far as I remember"
Actually, you could go on the internet and download any mods and maps from forums and such, as long as the creator had "baked" a version for PS3. Then you would put it on a memory stick or USB drive, stick it in your PS3, and bam.
But Bethesda's mods tended to be waaay bigger and more complex. If something caused framerate dips on a PC, you can imagine what...
EA had nothing to do with Starcraft 2. That's Activison.
And the Marketplace was never put in the final game, but they're still working on one.
I think Diablo could work on a controller. It's just with Starcraft 2, they would have had to change the entire fundamentals of the game to make it play right.
It's very easy to see the difference here. Kinda sad, since the old comparisons with Crysis 1 vs real life were almost indistinguishable.
The irony is the fact the the video you posted of Crysis 2 is from the PC version at max settings, proven by the uploader's comment. And the console versions are missing most of those destruction effects, and look considerably worse.
Anyways, it wasn't a dumb move. The majority of Battlefield fans are on PC, and their engine is focused on pushing PC boundaries. That's like blaming CD Projekt for releasing Witcher 2 on PC before the 360 port.
If I was paying over $100 for a case, I would definitely aim for a full-tower. The HAF 922 is mid-tower if I remember correctly.
The difference between the i5 2500k and i7 2600k is way too marginal considering the extra $100. Unless your using it for heavy video editing, or other things that could benefit from hyperthreading or the extra 2MB of L3 cache, it's not worth it.
For that 6950, hopefully you got a reference 2GB version and flashed it to a 6970. ...
And there are tons of players on Battlefield 2 still. Before Bad Company, Battlefield was always a PC-only franchise, aside from the crappy Battlefield 2 Xbox port. If the BF fanbase is anywhere, it's on PC.
One word: Steam. No one will change over. If anything, this is hurting their sales, especially if they remove more EA games from Steam, since they'll be missing out on a huge market. They'll realize that soon.
"You NEED a G25 Steering Wheel to play a racing sim properly."
First, I'm not sure why anyone would get the G25 when the G27 has been out for ages now, and the G25 is out of production.
Second, Fanatecs wheels are definitely on the same level, and in my opinion, they're of a higher quality (and I'm a G27 owner). The BIGGEST difference though is the pedals. Fanatecs Clubsport pedals are mindblowingly amazing, and fully customizable. Yes, ...
Something that is not an opinion is that GT5 has better driving physics than Forza 3. More realistic, much funner, each car feels more unique. Even the anti-GT pro-Forza people at GTPlanet will admit this. They're missing the tire stuff (which is huge, *facepalm* at Polyphony), but everything else is far better.
Now the negatives... I really feel like Sony forced them to rush the game out. There were even features in the manual that were either patched later or never in t...
Well, conquest is the de facto Battlefield game type (other than Bad Company, which was gold rush), so I don't see the problem here. It'll probably be the most played game type in BF3.
It's because Hitman was actually doing these things way before Uncharted 2. Now everyone thinks it "looks like Uncharted".
Activision is still being greedy. Games from 2010 go on sale for less than $10 all the time on Steam. COD4 IS FROM 2007. FOR $15. WHILE ON SALE.
For $5 more, you could get Battlefield Bad Company 2, which only released last year. And that's not even on sale right now. It's gone for around $7 or $8 before.
What is this Activision? Then you wonder why your games don't sell on PC... good luck convincing 4chan.

Yeah, this year it's picking the best from 3 extremely lame conferences. Sony did the best, but was still very boring. Everyone focused way too much on portables and peripherals.
I 'm only using my PS3 for exclusives right now. I use a controller for any games on PC that don't too good on m/kb (some platformers, side scrollers, shoot-em-ups like Geometry Wars).
For racers, 60 fps is a big thing for me, as is visibility in the distance where a higher resolution helps, plus I have a wheel, so PC is the way for me.
