IMO it won't cost as much. From what I know, developers spend a TON of time and resources on optimization, the best way to deal with the small amount of memory while getting as close to 30fps as possible, and often, they can't even hit that OR HD.
Look at some of the PC devs who have made the best graphically looking games. The Witcher 2 and Metro 2033 teams were pretty small and had a relatively low budget.

You'll never get a lightning paced RTS on a console properly though. Not even Move would be able to keep up with something like Starcraft 2 where your doing over a hundred actions per minutes.
I personally can't stand the Xbox controller. Shooting with the long triggers, the fact that almost every Xbox game has the triggers for shooting by default (I prefer L1 and R1, triggers for secondary and grenades), the big size of it (and I have big hands), and the analogue stick positions have always felt weird to me.

Once you hit past $100, their entire range becomes obviously overpriced. I use Audio Technica AD 700s and Sennheiser HD 595s with a separate mic and an Astro Mixamp. Blows every higher end Turtle Beach I've heard, plus they're actual hi-fi music headphones at the same time. HUGE soundstage.

I like the way the system works. It rewards you for playing well. And it punishes you for being too greedy as you can blow all you money on a sniper-deagle-nade-kevlar+helm loadout and lose it all on a single guy killing you.

Except the new VAs are quite terrible. James high-ish somewhat whiny voice fit with his character who was in denial of the truth, and always running from his fears. Eddie sounded like a derranged killer. While I admit the voices themselves were somewhat bad, the emotional segments wern't overdone like the new VAs.

Never knew 720p with, I'm assuming, 2x or 4x MSAA was better than 1080p and super-sampled AA.
But emulators due have issues with graphical artifacts and lighting bugs sometimes, so I'll give you that.

There's a demo on Steam. Try it to see if you can run it well. If, not, try lowering the settings.
Alot of my older PC games (pre-2007) would come on 3-5 discs. I think Riddick: EFBB was even 6. Of course, that was back then. I buy pretty much everything on Steam now, so I wouldn't know anymore, but it's not too unfeasible if they take that route.
Plus you won't have to deal with disc swapping, or any discs at all after installation. 50+GB does sound a bit steep though, considering the average PC game size hovers around 10-15 GB, :O
Last I heard in an interview (with the writer I think) about a year or two ago, it was taking place on Earth, and you would go through cities and such. I'm guessing more open environments would also go along, since it's not like Doom 3 where the whole game is spent in a research facility.
Basically, every weapon in the game kills you in a couple of shots, a single shot to the head is always death. Gunplay is heavily on accuracy and reflexes. In long range fights, you pretty much have to crouch and fire in single or burst shots due to the massive recoil of guns. It's a twitch shooter where shootouts come down to whoever can aim faster, more accurately, and control their recoil, while getting a balance between strafing and shooting. The problem with Counter-Strike though is that it's literally the definition of a tactical twitch shooter, except the twitch shooter part is much more accuracy based. As in, I couldn't imagine playing on a controller vs anyone using a mouse.
I also remember playing alot on a modded server with low gravity, only sniper rifles, and only headshots kill. I'm not sure if they're going to be having mod support with this either (zombiemod, RPG, and mini-game servers ...

Not just a little, alot. My (OCed to stock GTX 570 performance) GTX 560 Ti runs better (and without the annoyances with SLI) than my old SLI GTX 275 setup.
