well, about the cutting the retailers part, it's actually true, most retailers don't make much money off consoles and make it from game sales. With the PSPGo, which has no physical media whatsoever, Sony is asking game retailers to sell a console with a very low profit margin and also tells them that once it's sold, they won't make a pennyout of it in the future. This might be fine for retailers like Wal-Mart which sell alot more things than just games, but for the average game retailers, it'...
and, may I please know, how these four great games pushed the envelope more than GTAIV?
Don't get me wrong, I didn't like GTAIV as much as GTA:Vice City or even Saints Row 2, however, on the technical level, it was in a league of its own, while I find the game to be boring, I never could stop myself from thinking about just how good it looked, how good it ran, at how real and lively the city and the characters were, the voice acting was much better than the average game, the sou...
Did you read the review? YOU DONT TRACK ANIMALS IN AFRIKA, they are a set places in Afrika and the Jeep takes you there.
Hey, I was thinking about getting BF2 or BF2142, can anyone tell me which one is more played and, subjectively, which one is the better game?
hmm, Borderlands, from the previews looks awesome and will likely be well reviewed. It should also sell well, just like most games developped by Gearbox. As for the BiA series, it has actually enjoyed quite some success both in sales and with critics. While I enjoyed Fallout 3, the first person mecanics were decent at best, and the overall game was saved by its setting and its RPG elements, not by its action moments.
Both Studios have had their good games and their bad games, I d...
yeah, but I guess even now, Activision really wants the CoD franchise to stay in WWII, CoD:WaW was set in WWII. And I'm pretty sure the next Treyarch CoD game will also be set in WWII.
Go play a maul, an azure TD and the likes and come back and tell me they are not better than most if not all games in the list.
yeah, its true that they try to make alot of cash with addons like the HDD and the likes, but as long as the consumers choose to buy it, I dont see why MS should stop doing it. The console market, like any market actually, is all about money. You wonder why Xbox Live aint free? Well because people are willing to pay for it and MS knows it. You think that Sony put a blu-ray drive in the PS3 so games would be better on it? You missed the point, they put it in because they knew it would give th...
yeah, I wonder why they don<t put these anyway. I have played all the games in the list, and none ever came close to what Ive seen in Wc3.
one difference though, the PSPGo will do what Sony said it would do, it will expand the overall PSP audience, give Sony more money (form the sales of the handheld itself and from the money saved due to the lack of a middleman and used games) and it will be more portable than the 3000.
On the other hand, Obama will be unable to achieve everything he said he'd like to do. Gitmo wasn't closed when he came into office and probably won't be in the first year either. The healthcare ref...
let's all remember that when the PSOne shipped, it didn't have analog sticks. Yet, after a while, it had 2. The Genesis also had 2 controllers, the second one having more buttons than the first one.
Adding a second stick to the PSP, Sony would not be dividing the fanbase, it would only allow developpers to have more options when designing games for the handheld. Those with the 2 stick model would have the option to play with both, while those without would be stuck with the subpa...
I know I'm probably be getting alot of disagrees for saying so but, for once I agree with Foxgod, within a few years, disc-based medias will be obsolete. Flash memory is getting cheaper by the day and its capacity is to grow to up to 2TB very very soon. The technology is here, it's smaller and has a bigger capacity.
Of course, one could argue that BDs will be cheaper than the memory cards, but as of now, we've seen many prototypes of BDs with capacities going up to 400GB (as I kn...
hmm, its all nice to have a 320GB blu-ray disc, but with Sandisk and Sony releasing their 2To memory stick pretty soon from what I hear, it makes me wonder for how long we will still be using discs.
Here, in Canada, we usually pay our games 10$ more than in the US (the average price for a console game is 70$CAD). Buyint on Steam for 45$USD is close to 50$CAD, rather than the 60$CAD I<m expecting in stores.
Steam<s pricing might not be great everywhere, but depending on your location, you can get some great deals too.
there has been previews regarding both version of the game, Giantbomb in particular was pretty clear about the fact that even on a modest computer the game would have twice the frame rate, better resolution and textures. The question is not @why would you not want to play it on your console@ but rather, why would anyone want to.
played the first level, I liked it alot, however, it does look dated, music ain't very good (imo), doesn't run very well (it cometimes lags), controls could be a tad better, gets repetitiv quickly and from the looks of it, things won't get better in the latter stages.
But, I must say, it's still nice to see a change in the hack n slash genre, actually, it's always nice to see something else than Dynasty Warriors.
well, it does beat the level for you, you just have to jump in at the end of the level.
read the books. He does.
As for the quality, it sure ain't on par with what we're getting thse days, but I like the style, reminds me of Ghost in the shell.
Well, considering the fact that this could be happenning before the events in Halo 1 (from the description), this could be a younger John than what people have seen in the games. In my opinion, he seemed more agile and reckless in the books than in the game, where he barely talks and has a somewhat limited set of moves.
Also, I know they said that because of the drugs and everything they looked slightly weird, but if that's Linda under that armour, she's definately looking more ...
and it didn't have a PS2 release (from what I know). Also, it really wasn't that bad, I don't like his music, but BotS really wasn't bad enough to be on such a list in my opinion, and it's not like it had awful reviews either.
I guess he meant Bulletproof, which really was awful, and on the PS2.
