I don't see why alot of people seem to be comparing Bayonetta with GoW, both are hack n slash games, but are extremely different in their execution. If Bayonetta is anything like DMC (which I assume it is), it's much more fast paced than GoW, relies more on flashy combos than gore and, as far as I'm concerned, is much more difficult. To me comparing games like NG, DMC and Bayonetta to GoW is like comparing the old Rainbow Six titles (pre-Vegas era) to Halo, both are FPS, but in very different...
it probably would look quite similar, seeing it currently runs on the 3rd gen iTouch/3GS, it would be unlikely to look better than that. However, it would surely control better.
@below
Not sure if I'd want to play a fast paced shooter on my PSP, Coded arms wasn'T exactly fast and yet, the controls didn'T feel appropriate.
but isn't buying this somewhat bad port (I'm using somewhat since it would appear the game is still playable and enjoyable, unlike some earlier ports, think FEAR on the PS3, which came much later than the 360 version and was inferior in every way to the 360 version, which was already inferior to the PC version), encouraging developers and publishers to continue to give PS3 users inferior versions?
Let's say you're the head of SEGA, you make and publish a bad port, people buy it, ...
Like Visari once said, "the madness...the madness begins", and it sure will. Like you said, the place will likely be zerg-rushed by fanboys from all side, either claiming a victory (over what? who knows) or dissing the overall game by claiming it's not a good game anyway or not on the same level of another title.
Either way, after reading the review, seems like I'll be renting it on 360, might buy it if I like it.
fun? Yep. Worth 20$? nope. Worth 10$? Was for me.
I was interested in the game, but seeing the minimum requirements pretty much convinced me not to buy it, as I mostly play on my laptop due to the fact that I spend most of my time away from home.
they forgot Napoleon:TW. Sure will be a great year for RTS fans, with releases from most major franchise, SC, CnC, TW and the likes.
Also, I hope APB does well, same goes for the old republic, as I really want to play an MMO (again) other than WoW and Aion, which are too similar to each other anyway. APB really seems different, I just hope it doesn't go the way of WAR and AoC, as I`bought both of these only to see a deserted world after a few weeks...
but why put the Spartan III anyway? They suck, plain and simple. They have inferior weaponry, cheaper armour, less training and are basically the suicide-team of humanity. And, didn't REach fall before the Spartan III program was put into place?
And again, why would anyone want to play as a Spartan III when you can play as a Spartan II?
I'm willing to believe you. However, aren't they sending them by the dozens to not see even one come back alive, most of the time? A...
oh really? I haven't seen one as of now, but then again, that might be because my consoles are always connected... could you name me a few games that require you to be online to play?
but, if you remove the HDD, what about the games with mandatory install? And if you install them on the PSN, assuming it would even work (it will at one point, but is the technology ready atm), would require you to be connected to the internet at all time to play many games, and every PSN store-bought games.
it looks okay. I wonder why anyone thought about rebooting the spec ops franchise in the first place, I guess it's because they hope we forgot about how bad the games were and thought the name was cool.
Also, why were the VGAs filled by franchise reboots? MoH, Spec ops, True crime and PoP are all getting reboots, which is particularly strange for the latter, since it was rebooted last year...
Well, for one, the X360 is selling much better than the first Xbox ever did, I was actually surprised when MS announced it was working on a new xbox after the first one died a slow and painful death. Even if by the end of this generation the X360 were to fall to the number 3 spot, I still believe it would be a victory for MS, as they still have gained ground in the console market. While 10 years ago, people used "nintendo" when referring to consoles in general, they used "plays...
Not that I disagree with you or anything, I just find it weird that you say that you will play these games on your gaming PC, while about 1 or 2 weeks ago, you said that PC gaming was somewhat dead and totally irrelevant and that consoles were where all the good games were.
But, about being able to play most games on the PC rather than on the 360, yeah, it can be done.
no, but tell me, what's more innovative, cycling game modes, or adding RPG elements like STALKER did?
In the last few years, here are some of the innovations we have seen in the FPS genre :
Classes, RPG-esque elements integration, secondary functions (although this one is pretty old), iron sight, FPCS, the ability to sprint, leaps and bounds in the story telling department, vehicules, kill streaks, kill cam, AI, more than 2 players co-op, counter-op, etc.
What KZ2 br...
lookm, I have KZ2, like KZ2, but cannot say that it is the most innovative FPS ever. Turrets? REALLY? Ever heard of Team Fortress 1? Spawn anywhere? MoH:Airborne did it in 2007. FPCS, while being innovative, is only being used in one other game, I say we should wait and see if this feature is picked by other games (other than Brink) before saying it influences the FPS genre. As for the medley, I'm pretty sure I've seen this in some other games in the past, probably a mod, but can't be sure. ...
What's so wrong about campers? I can see how they were annoying in games like CS, but with the kill cam, you can see the guy's location after he kills you, how is it their fault you are unable to kill them afterwards. It's not like they will surprise you everytime.
Well, we technically have the same price, maybe we don't have the same services though. I have TGV50, so about 80 a month, 3 30GB blocks, about 40$, and taxes, so about 125-130 a month. I also bust my bandwidth limit every month for about 10 to 70$.
As for the speed, the techs at Videotron told me it would be better at some point.
where do you live, you lucky bastard!
ah, I guess I should mention I'm only supposed to pay like 125-130$ a month, but I bust my bandwidth limit every single month, so I usually end up paying between 125-200$ a month. In other words, yeah, it's rather expensive, but I have my fair share of responsability aswell haha.
nope, I'm actually in my province's capital lol
Got used to Coded Arms aswell, not because it was a good game, but rather because I'm one of those who had to live with the first few years of the PSP (got mine on launch), therefor, I played to death any game worth being played, despite their shortcomings. When I had to choose between Coded arms and games like Rengoku, Coded Arms seemed like a gift from heaven!
