yeah, because we all know the N64 died the moment it got outsold by the PSOne right? And I guess the PSP is about dead by now, since it's been outsold since day one? And since you make it seem like sales are everything, I guess both the 360 and the PS3 are pretty much dead right now, since the Wii is outselling both.
Next time you want to make such a comment, atleast make it where it belongs, in the open zone please.
I buy myself a laptop every one or two years, having to pay 2000-3000$ isn't too bad for me. Having a desktop would be much cheaper, but since I spend most of my time either at work or at university, a notebook is pretty much necessary.
I never bought an AlienWare, but next year is the year.
btw Toaster, you said in another article that someone got your name and that it suprised you, seems rather obvious to me, your avatar is a Cylon head...
I was not referring to the sales themselves, but the deals. The two first days had better games in my opinion. I bought 5-6 games in the two first days, I thought about buying RE5 yesterday, but decided against it since I already own it on console aswell as Borderlands (actually own it on PC and PS3), as for today, I checked the list, closed Steam, told myself I'd come back tomorrow.
Of course, this is very subjective, since I already owned many of the games that were on sale, bu...
The sales really started strong, but today and yesterday's sales were a bit lackluster, to me.
Hopefully they will go all out tomorrow, if only not to be overshadowed by D2D's crazy Monday sale or whatever they are calling it.
...oh well, hopefully the next days won't be filled with games I just bought full price haha
anyway, they have some great deals right now
I played the first DoA Extreme Beach Volley Ball for the gambling games... My friends played the Volley Ball to earn cash, and I'd lose it in the casino.
Hmm, I'd say that when it comes to decent to great games only, the PC isn't so far away from consoles.
In the last few years (since I can'T bother to go and make sure they were all released in the last year), the PC had Empire:Total War, Crysis Warhead, Sins of a solar empire, Tropico3, PlantsVSZombies, Torchlight, Dawn of War2, the witcher and Stalker CS, and those are PC exclusives, as the PC has many multiplatform games, but doesn't share as many as the PS3 and 360 though.
PC has had many good ports, after playing DMC4 on all 3 platforms, the PC version is the superior one (I played it with my X360 controller, not K/M though).
But I think the PC should be seen in the same way we see consoles, it has multiplatform games, from which we probably should not expect to much more than the console version, MW2 on PC is still the better version, it's just not on par with what we usually have in pc games.
The one thing people seem to forget is ...
I was wondering, did they count Steam sales or only retail? As it would seem many sales stats do not include DD, which is pretty lame as DD most likely outsells retail for many PC games.
and maybe the ZuneHd can make it's way to Canada. I really want one, but for the price I can get it on eBay, I could get a 64GB iTouch for the same price I'd have to pay for a 32GB ZuneHD.
Also, about the Zune, since I don't have one I have no idea about the support it's getting, does it have apps on it? or only a handfull of MS published X360 games spin offs?
I played both versions (actually played the PS3 version alot, but barely touched the PSP version).
And for me, this game suffers from the same problem I've had with PSP spin offs or sequels. I usually get used to better graphics, controls, frame rate and content on the PS3, and when I get the PSP version, it just doesn't feel right to me.
Of course, the game is still an amazing game, I just wish I could have played the PSP version first, then the PS3 version. Oh well...
If you enjoy sucky buggy games, go on. Also consider that EA will reap the proftis.
While I'd love to get my hands on a PSP2 in 2010, I highly doubt we'll see it before 2011. When you think about it, a new handheld needs to have some time to build hype before the launch, this is not a simple redesign like the Go or the PS3 Slim, it's a whole new system, with a high price tag (remember, new technology means higher cost, putting the PSP2 was more expensive than the PS3, expect it to be 300$+).
Announcing it in march (CES right?) could make sense, but I doubt they...
"and it still won't play any of the excellent Sony exclusives"
You do realize that can be said for pretty much any platform other than the n-gage right?
Like,
you can buy yourself a PS3 but it won't play any of the excellent X360 exclusives,
or
you can buy yourself a DS and it still won't play any of the excellent PSP exclusives
etc.
As for the outdated/not outdated tech found in consoles, the moment I bought my 360 an...
So, what you'Re basically saying is that every generation, Sony creates a hard to develop for console, to make sure that early generations of games look rough compared to what the competition is offering, just so they can make their games look better a few years later? And let me guess, the tools Sony are currently releasing to developpers were actually ready 3 years ago but Sony didn't feel like it was the right time to have good looking 3rd party games right?
I mean, I have som...
To be fair, when the PS3 launched, the 8800GTX had already launched (only a few days before), so the PS3's GPU was already outdated the moment it launched, though that is a common thing with consoles, as console devs are expected to get better graphics with optimization, due to all PS3s having the same hardware, something that can't be said about PCs.
And to the person above me, the same could be said about PC exclusive games like Crysis, CnC and WoW to name a few. What I mean b...
Yeah, I know it's more expensive, and I also acknowledge the fact that consoles in general, but mostly the PS3, are great value, as they provide good to great graphics with a very low price tag.
My only gripe with the article is the title, unequaled shouldn't be used in this context, as it's not true, unless you add "among consoles" after it, or something similar. In the early WWII, Germany's army was unequaled, as it was the best there was, and by quite a large margin ...
yeah, cause the PS3 has better graphics than the PC right?
I know, someone will come out and say that this is about consoles and that the PC has to be upgraded every now and then and cost much more than a console. We all know that. But when someone says "unequaled graphics", it suggests that it offers better graphics than pretty much anything else, which we know won't really be the case due to the usual console model; modified version of an older generation GPU, lack of...
well, I think it'S holding up pretty well, sure it's no CryEngine2 or anything, but you can't really expect Valve to release a non-source game, and I'd rather have them work on a new engine AND release some game, rather than having to wait 2-3 years for them to come up with a new engine. I'm pretty confident Valve realises Source is outdated, and I'm guessing we'll see a new one about 1 or 2 years before the next gen of console.
well, it's hard to say, reports I have seen have been rather confusing regarding Europe. Japan and Asia in general are definately Playstation territory (when compared to the 360), US is, as of now, Xbox land, though the PS3 is quickly gaining momentum. Like I said, it seems both MS and Sony have claimed superiority in Europe, and while I am willing to believe both companies are not lying about their sales, both are using different ways to calculate their sales, like using Europe w/o UK, or wi...
