What's great about this, is that in a few years, Nintendo and Sony will likely be looking to build their next handheld devices, and by then mobile technology will be even more advanced. In three or four years, it might be possible for these mobile SoCs to come very close to the PS4/XBO.
How about they move everything to the 3DS before moving anything to smartphones or their competition?
Why are most if not all of these articles focusing on the failings of the Wii-U and ignoring the overall success of the 3DS?
Why would Nintendo ever go third party when the 3DS is a very successful platform (despite missing Nintendo's sales estimates). Is it a possibility that Nintendo could retire itself from the console race after the Wii-U? Yes, it is a possibility. Does that mean they won't have a next-gen handheld? No, as this simply wouldn't make sense. And ...
It's hard to say, I have one, and play it every now and then. But to me, the bigger titles like Killzone, Uncharted and many high profile Vita games don't appeal to me. I own them, and played them for a bit, but they feel like completely inferior versions of their console counterparts, not just the graphics, but the gameplay too.
So, in the end, I'm mostly left playing smaller original games like Tearaway, Y's, P4 and Zero Escape. And there aren't enough ...
"bleeding edge", does that mean we can have climbable ladders?
Yay for Canada not getting screwed!
Can we stop with the WoW killers? WarHammer Age of Reckoning tried and failed despite having better graphics and a strong focus on PvP. Aion tried and failed, despite better graphics and aerial combat. TERA failed, despite much better graphics and a more action-focused combat system. Star Wars TOR failed to kill WoW despite having one of the strongest brand name and an experienced developer. LOTR Online failed as well. Even Guild Wars 2, a successful MMORPG in its own rights hasn't manage...
Whether you like the WWE product or not, the WWE network is, as far as we know, how this type of subscription service should be in the future. You, and many other might have no interest in the content of the WWE network, but it doesn't mean it isn't designed to be the blueprint for specialized networks of tomorrow.
As for the article, I hope we get more details regarding Playstation now in the near future, as it is true many things are still unknown about it. Hopeful...
And all the bugs in Dead Island made it very difficult for me to come back from other games to Dead Island.
Dying Light seems to be a very ambitious project, but I hope they have the ability to pull it off accordingly.
Games-wise, it might be a great game, at least it's off to a great start with Danganronpa, Toukiden, Conception II, Demon Gaze and FFX/FFX-2. But sales-wise, it's unlikely to be "the year of the Vita", as only FFX can be considered a system seller.
I think those who have a Vita will have a blast, those who already wanted a Vita will have more reasons to buy one, but those who didn't want a Vita last year will have little reason to change their opinion of...
the 10$ a month requires a 6 months commitment, meaning 60$. Considering WM is usually around 60$ by itself, it would be wise to take the 6 months subscription.
It includes all of the ECW and WCW programming, including their PPVs.
I suspect it will be limited to some Smart TV models with bluetooth support.
I wonder which games will be available; will it be games available on the PS Store only, or will they also offer games that aren't on the PS Store (like most of the PS2 and PSX catalog). Will they also have PS4 and PS Vita games, or is Playstation Now solely focused on older titles. I also wonder how pricing will work, will we have to own the games and pay for a subscription? I am very interested in this, and I hope it will be as amazing as it could and should be.
Thanks for the info. It sounds really exciting.
Am I to understand a player would need a 3DS and a Wii-U to get the full experience? Or is the handheld/Terminal something else?
I don't want my CPU and GPU to be on the same chip, or at least I still want to have the option to buy both separately.
On a gaming rig, the CPU can stay on for years, as games are less and less CPU dependent. On the other hand, the GPU can be changed every other year or so. Having them both together means that you either stick with your old GPU, or pay for a new CPU that you simply don't need. At least for me that's what it would mean, as my CPU and GPU upgrade ...
There are less Vitas than PS3s sold, by a very large margin.
I'll be getting it on Vita myself, but it isn't very surprising to see the PS3 edition selling more.
I believe Square Enix said they had FF6 coming out during this winter.
As for FF7 to FF9, since they are already running very well on third party emulators, I would presume SE should be able to release them fairly quickly too. And seeing how SE has been remaking the past Final Fantasy games (either a full 3D remake like 3 and 4 or redrawn 2D sprites like 5), maybe we will be getting some extra work rather than a simple port for FF7 to FF9 on mobile devices.
Steam has been pushing me updates for quite while now, some close to that size. It's not the first or the last time this will happen. I don't have a cap on my connection, so I really don't mind, but for those with a low cap, this will definitely be quite troublesome. More efficiency would be great for them.
