Why would it bring Microsoft a monopoly over digital games?

I have Windows 8 and I can buy my games from any store I wish to, may it be Origin, Steam, GOG, etc. And, I have no reason to believe this will suddenly change with Windows 9.

I don't think all games should apply these laws, but I do think it could be possible to develop a few specific games that would integrate them as a plot device as well as a key gameplay element.

For example, a realistic military shooter where you are penalized for killing or harming unarmed people and where you cannot draw your gun unless being under attack could be a pretty intense experience, and it would greatly differ from the every day military shooter where all we ...

You can use a controller on the PC if you're familiar with keyboard/mouse. You can choose from generic USB gamepads, Xbox 360 controllers, PS3 controllers and even PS4 controllers.

The game had trouble running on the PS3/360. Hopefully it runs better on the Vita. But really, a release date and some footage of the game would really be welcome by now.

Many of the proposed changes would simply make Call of Duty more like Battlefield. If you want to play BF, just go and play BF, don't make articles about how CoD should change.

Call of Duty is fine the way it is; if it doesn't suite your taste, go play something else.

Are we going to have an article like that every time a major game is coming out?

Titanfall alone isn't worth buy an Xbox One! The same applies to Halo, Gears, inFamous, Killzone, Mario, Uncharted, Forza, etc. No one is buying a console for one single game, but guess what, may it be the PS4, the Xbox One or the Wii-U, they already have other quality games and many more to come.

While 4K content on a smartphone or a tablet may seem overkill, and in a way, useless as there are currently no commercially available smartphone/tablet with a 4K screen, they are coming. Samsung has plans to have mobile devices with 4K screens in 2015 (although the lack of resolution upgrade on the Galaxy S5 could indicate that Samsung's road map may be delayed by a year or two).

Furthermore, I would presume the biggest use for the 4K capable SoCs is for streaming medias...

Last time we heard anything from Blizzard concerning WoW, the subscription numbers were up, and will likely get an additional boost when the expansion is close to launch; ESO is no threat to WoW's domination over the MMO space.

Call of Duty is still a very solid franchise, and with EA not having a Battlefield game this year, and Titanfall releasing many months ahead, you can expect CoD to perform very well during the holiday season.

Destiny is set to be ...

While I do agree with the 2 years timeframe, I have to disagree with most of the article. I think the "Fusion" name could work very well, mostly if the rumors were to be true; which would mean a home console/handheld combo that work together. As for the controller, while having a traditional controller option is a must, I really think that a well designed handheld with decent joysticks could still be the main controller option. If Nintendo simply tries to compete with PS4/XBO simply...

I hope it's not a revision. Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Valhalla Knights 3 Gold; it would seem that after the age of the DLC, we are now in the age of the revisions, which is even worse. Rather than having us pay say 20$ for a DLC for bonus content, they expect us to buy the games a second time now. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend.

So, we'd be about one month away from Borderlands 2 on Vita, yet they haven't showed us even a glimpse of gameplay on the Vita?

Either the game has serious technical issues, or they have assigned it to the worst marketing team they had available.

Just make sure to release more than one color. Please, I presume the black version is pretty much guaranteed, but I'd like the white/lime version to make it to North America as well.

One thing we must all remember is that Nintendo still has plenty of cash, and, if needed, could go and buy some major studios or IPs to boost its first party offerings. It also allows them to have the Wii-U fail, as they can survive long enough to prepare themselves for the next generation of home consoles, and their next handheld device.

Another thing to remember is that Nintendo still has a lot of brand recognition, well known franchises and a successful handheld on the ma...

I have a question though. Does the game feature a sandbox mode of some kind? If so, I wouldn't mind paying 40$ despite the short campaign. If it's a very linear game though, it'll be harder to justify paying 40$ for a glorified demo.

I think the word "game" should be inclusive. Some games feel more like interactive movies, others are fairly simple, and then you have the more traditional games. But, either way, they're all games. As long as there's some kind of interactivity, I don't see why Gone Home and Dear Esther wouldn't be considered as games. If anything, variety is a great thing. People complain about how every game nowadays are CoD-clones and lack creativity, let's not discredit those...

I think these comparisons would be much more meaningful had SE actually bothered to make a PC version of the definitive edition.

My take away from most of these comparisons is that the PC version still trumps the PS4/XBO versions in AA, frame rate, texture resolution among other things. The console versions benefit from improvements made to the engine, like a better lighting system, improved tressFX and animations.

It doesn't do much as a power comparison...

Well, FF Tactics is up to SquareEnix. As for Advance Wars, I believe the developer recently released the superb Fire Emblem Awakening, but an Advance Wars game is hopefully coming along sooner rather than later. AW:DS was one of the best DS games, so I hope they don't just let the franchise die. Hopefully more in the line of Dual Strike than Days of ruin though.

I can see why developers aren't developing more games for the wii-u, as its install base is small, but ther...

To me, the PSP faltered in the West when Japanese developers stopped supporting the platform outside of Japan. The number of great PSP games to have never made it out of Japan is staggering, and in my opinion, one of the reason why the PSP was considered on its deathbed in the West years before it actually died.

On the other hand, the Vita has been receiving quite a lot of support from Japanese developers, and many of them have been released in the West, or will soon be. But,...

The price is a bit high compared to the original model; I suspect it will be around 200$-250$ when it hits North America, while the original model is selling around those prices as well.

But really, my biggest issue, is that it seems Sony will only be launching the black model in the UK (and likely worldwide afterwards). Small note to both Sony and Nintendo, people out of Japan are not all colorblind, we can see and appreciate just as many colors as the Japanese people.
