I didn't skip it because I wanted to, I skipped because I just didn't have the money to get one of the consoles. By the time I was fiendin' to play some new games, the Xbox 360 and PS3 were being talked about, so I just waited. I got an Xbox 360 at launch (well Christmas, but it was a launch console), and got a PS3 early this year.
I guess you can say I'm making up for lost time, owning both consoles and having more than 30 games total.
Gears of War - The whole cutscene when you first see RAAM and he kills Lt. Kim. Still to this day, a draw-dropping scene.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - The nuke. I just replayed the campaign last week, totally amazing.

If he just spammed the regular lightning attack and didn't enjoy it, that's his problem. I had a blast throwing grenades and rockets into a crowd of enemies. I liked the redirect power...shoot a rocket, then lightning strike the guy and the rocket goes to that spot. maybe ...
I didn't know much about it, and had no intentions of getting it, then I played the demo and I HAD to have it.
I played through evil on my first attempt. That was a blast. Maxed Gigawatt Blades + Innocent Pedestrian = Slow Mo Satisfaction. :-D
I started my Hero playthrough last night. It's hard to say which I like better, EVIL Cole or GOOD Cole, because I haven't unlocked all of his GOOD powers yet. So far both are proving to be awesome.
I tried to sell it on Ebay, but they pulled the listing. I guess betas aren't allowed due to copyright stuff.

LOL, I would say with those numbers that the game DID live up to the hype. Maybe it didn't live up to what YOU were expecting, but obviously there's a lot of people still playing it and loving it.
Also, how do you know that the people who play Halo 3 aren't playing other games?
I've probably played Halo 3 the most out of all my games, but I still play other games and quite a bit.
...is the main reason I haven't played Killzone 2 MP more. I tried hookin' up with people several times, and we ended up on different teams, or the game they were in was full, or our ranks were different. It was very frustrating wanting to p;au with friends, and not being able to. Oh well.

The point is I'm basing my excitement off of the game I've already played and is still one of my favorite games of all time. I find it hard to believe that the sequel will be completely different from the first. Until they prove otherwise, I'll believe the second will live up to, and exceed my expectations.

I've played Mass Effect numerous times, and it's one of my favorite games. If Mass Effect 2 ONLY builds upon the great story, it'd be a phenomenal game.
I'm freakin' stoked for Mass Effect 2. That might be my GOTY for 2010.
