Epic did this with Gears of War 2. You buy it new, you get the Flashback map pack.
If you still want to buy a used copy, then by all means, do that. They're just giving you an incentive to buy it brand new.
I couldn't resist only because it was the Deal of the Week. I had never played Halo: CE (only Halo 3), so when it was discounted pretty good, I decided that was as good a time as any to buy it.
:-)
The article doesn't have any facts, so they're just speculating at this point. Nothing is confirmed, and if we go by recent CoD beta history, this one could very well be Xbox exclusive.
...but I don't care because I'd rather have the physical media anyway. I take care of my games, so there really is no risk of loss or damage. Digital media doesn't really benefit.
The only retail game I've purchased was Halo: Combat Evolved, and that was because it was the Deal of the Week.
Hopefully there will be other ways to get into the beta other than pre-ordering the Prestige Edition. I'm sure there will be, but you never know.
Also, hopefully both consoles get the beta. So far the CoD betas have been Xbox exclusive, which sucks for the PS3. I own both consoles, but I'd be in the Xbox one since that's where I have the majority of my friends. I still don't wanna see the PS3 only owners left out of the awesome beta experience.
...but I'm sure once they make it to where you can, it'll be 320 points per pose.
My 20gb HDD is in pain too. I'm really tempted to buy one of the 120 gig HDDs off of ebay. I only have 1 or 2 gigs left, and I have to keep deleting stuff that I don't want to keep.
I have a good amount of DLC on my HDD, an Xbox original, and some trailers of my favorite games. NEED MOAR SPACE!!!
I haven't purchased a single music based game, and I don't intend to do so. For one, they release a new one every year, or even multiple times a year...and B, the peripherals are so overpriced it isn't even funny. I don't have room to keep all that junk.
I'll buy Modern Warfare 2 (Hardened edition) at full price because it's a game I really want. I would get the Standard edition, but I like the boxart more for the Hardened edition, and I have a thing for the steel (or tin, whatev...
...but now I'm holding off until the game+DLC bundle releases. Since my birthday is in October, I'll probably get it then.
I've already bought Killzone 2, inFamous, Halo Wars, GTAIV:TLaD and Prototype this year. On top of that, I had a little catching up to do with CoDWaW, Saints Row 2, Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. I even went back to last gen and bought Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. Then there were also the games I got from GameFly...Resistance 2, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and Left 4 Dead.
I'll be getting Halo 3: ODST, Modern Warfare 2, the rumored Fallout 3+DLC retail bundle, GTAIV: T...
I've logged a ton of hours on one save file. I completed the main story and all the side quests. I purchased every single piece of property in Albion. I played through Knothole Island and See The Future DLC.
I love the whole art style of the game. Some of the environments are truly breathtaking. There were many times where I would just stop and look at the sun pouring in through the trees and was just in awe.
Fable 2 was my '08 GOTY.
Xbox graphics? LMFAO.
As I stated, Halo 3 was my first Halo game, and since going back and playing the first two, it's pretty obvious how much better Halo 3 looks than Halo 2. Anyone who says Halo 3 looks like an Xbox game is just a hater.
@above.
Noted and fixed. I couldn't care less. Thanks.
I just pre-ordered Halo 3 ODST yesterday and I can't wait to play it.
Halo 3 was my first Halo game, and since I've enjoyed it so much, I bought Halo: Combat Evolved on the Marketplace when it was a Deal of the Week, and I'm working my way through Halo 2 now.
It's all personal preferences, but I think Halo 3 is a great looking game. It's different than the battle torn environments of Gears of War and Killzone 2, and the realistic settings of Call of Duty, Ghost Recon...
I might check out this game if it gets good reviews.
I know I'll definitely be getting Modern Warfare 2, but I also enjoy a bit more tactical shooter like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six.
You should put the NVGs on your Master Chief helmet!!
I really want Prestige, but I don't know if I can afford it. Oh well, maybe I'll just save up all my Best Buy Rewards certificates from my Best Buy MasterCard and my Gamers Club points and use that.
Whoa...$190.00. Is it THAT much better to justify the price difference?!
I absolutely want this game. It looks incredible and is EASILY my most anticipated game right now.
Can anyone tell me if the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel is good?
I was into Forza 2 for a little while, then just kinda hit a wall with it, tried picking it back up and I just suck using the controller. Was wondering if the racing wheel is any good and makes the game more enjoyable...
1. Halo 3 ODST
2. Modern Warfare 2
Those are my two definite MUST BUY games.
After those two, I'm contemplating Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Operation Flashpoint.
