I wholeheartedly LOVE Pc gaming. But what I really enjoy is console fanboys bickering over which console could beat up your dad.

I play lots of older games emulated on my Nvidia Shield. Having such a small screen really helps the lower resolutions and colors pop. Plus lots of emulators have Save States so I can finally beat Ninja Gaiden on NES.
I dont play too many older games on my big TV, but those classics sure are great on the go.

I dont know if you consider Mario Tennis AAA or not, but that was the thinnest game I have bought so far. No tournament mode whatsoever. No mushroom, Fire flower, Star or Rainbow cups.
A crappy endless-runner/knockout challenge is the most effort they put in the game. The items are more of a hindrance on the court.
Im absolutely shocked that this came from Nintendo, maybe thats why it feels so wrong. Mariokart 8 was incredible! As was Mario 3d World. What happened Ninte...

Have you ever bought anything you had to build out of the box lately? Christ, i bought a fireplace that had a schematic for build instructions. Not a written word on the bastard.
Putting my PC together was a breeze in comparison. Google and YouTube can make any task conquerable.

You sound like you're on the right track with the Case. If you get a full size tower there shouldnt be a whole lot you cant fit in there. Plus large cases means you can get your whole forearm in there to plug stuff in and such.
Most cases cost under $100 so its not the biggest expense to worry about.
I game exclusively with a controller. The Xbox Elite is the one you were thinking of. You can customize almost any controller on PC with Controller Companion though. ...

In my experience, I would almost pick your case first. That way you know what Motherboard format (ITX, Mini-ITX) and GPU will fit in there. Ive been burned by getting the wrong Mobo and trying to fit it into ITX case.
The monitor is always an overlooked component. Unfortunately, even my 980ti will barely push 4k content with newer games. If you really want an upgrade over 1080p, shoot for 1440p monitor. You get quite a lot more pixels and it wont catch your GPU on fire. Just a...

With the PC world, you get what you pay for. If you want a budget PC, you can find one. If you want a NASA guidance system, you can build that too.
The complaints roll in because PS3 is a fixed console with a fixed price. You cant exactly wait for cheaper RAM or the new GPU to drop.

PC and consoles are totally different ecosystems. You cant call one price "acceptable" or not. Whats acceptable in PC gaming is what you can afford.

I...

If you havent purchased all your parts, I would recommend plunking your components into the PCpartpicker so you are sure your Mobo and GPU will fit your case. Plus its always nice to know what your power draw is too, just because your card will be hungry.
Ah the sweet anticipation of your Motherboard posting for the first time. So much tension waiting for a single Beep.
PM me if you have some troubles along the way. But watching vids is a great start.

Absolutely, to each their own. My brother is in the same boat. Loves VR, but terrified of computers.
I just love the customization and tinkering of building a PC. Like an old car or bike you lovingly keep in the garage.

Building a computer isnt as daunting as a lot of people think. You can save yourself lots of cash and get exactly what you need when you build your own PC. PCpartpicker already has a billion builds for every budget as well as a robust community to get you going.

I would always recommend building your own Pc, rather than get a bloated and overpriced 3rd party model for the sake of convenience.

I just cannot see the benefit of streaming Xbox to PC. Unless you have a crappy laptop you simply use for netflix and such, why would you ever stream to a PC? Why not play your Xbox directly? The X1 can be moved into any room with minimal effort. So why stream?

I use Game Stream on Steam, but thats because my Rig stays in the media room.

You can add any game to your steam library. I have my dolphin emulator through steam. Simply link your steam library to the folder location. Even my Uplay games pop up in steam. Then I can still gamestream them upstairs too.

Cloud saves, game works, family sharing, game stream, great deals, all for the low low price of Internet.
Steam is miles ahead of Playstation and Microsoft in certain aspects.
They aren't the only game in town, but Valve has a pretty great PC service.

Lately the exclusives aren't enough for me to promote any one console. My gaming tastes usually are of the multiplatform variety. Skyrim, Wolfenstein, Mass Effect, even Divinity are my faves. So when a game goes multiplatform, it only makes sense to me. None of those games could have made as much capital on one console as all consoles.
The only people who benefit from exclusives is the Console developer. Is it really hurting you, personally if someone on PC plays Bloodborne? O...

Comparing one burger to another that takes 2 seconds to make compared to developing games which takes years, money, and usually a team of people, is stupid. A burger is a burger is a burger.

Your analogy couldn't be farther from what I was talking about.

But that's ok. You kids kick and claw at each other arguing about which console is better, meanwhile these companies are making money anyways. Any controversy fanboys dream up only makes them more ...

Why don't people defend games instead of consoles? I love Mass Effect 3 more than the 360 and I'm glad everyone from PC to PS3 got to enjoy it. I say the more platforms the better. Better chances of sequels, better chances of a bigger budget, all go up when the user base is high. Developers make the games we play. Those are the things that entertain me. Not whatever sticker is slapped on the console. I'll back the Devs every time. Consoles come and go.

Were you going to buy an X1 because of QB? Or Halo? Chances are if you haven't bought an X1 yet, then your reasons for doing so would go beyond exclusive content.

Now that the Elite controller hit the High Score, all these other controllers look amateur by comparison.

Here Ive just been turning up my Sub to the max. You really feel gunshots and explosions if you tune your stereo properly. No need for a tilt a whirl.
